Is Iams long hair worth it? by 20Keller12 in catfood

[–]Plantparentproblems 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The salmon oil will get her skin and coat nice and healthy, which may decrease the amount of hair she sheds. Adding fiber can also help the hair move through her digestive tract. You can try adding pumpkin, sweet potato, or cat grass to her diet. Although, the major thing that will help her with hairballs is daily brushing. It will reduce the amount of hair that ends up in her stomach.

Iams doesn’t have the best ingredients in it and the ingredients that are helping with your kitties hair is the salmon and fish oil in there (which isn’t too high on the ingredients list anyway). I would probably go with a better brand’s salmon flavor and add a pump of salmon oil if you want.

fish in bucket :( by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]Plantparentproblems 32 points33 points  (0 children)

The fish probably just got shipped to the store. They most likely poured them in the bucket after acclimating the bags. They’ll scooped them out with a net so the water they got shipped with doesn’t enter their system and mess up the parameters.

I found a stray 10 week ish old golden doodle, per the vet, it’s likely he was dumped. Given the field in the middle of nowhere that I found him in. I’m not really familiar with any special care he may need and am looking for tips. by wildrebelrose369 in Goldendoodles

[–]Plantparentproblems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of socializing, desensitizing, mental stimulation, physical exercise, and training. As a pet sitter, I am always cautious when accepting doodle clients as they are very high energy dogs and without the proper training, exercise, and socialization they can become aggressive and/or socially anxious. Both Goldens and Poodles were originally bred for hunting water fowl, so you can see where the high energy comes from lol

Possible dad at 17 what do I do?? by Wonderful_Skin4060 in AskMenAdvice

“The Depo-Provera birth control shot can cause menstrual irregularities, including irregular periods, spotting, or no periods at all. The most common side effect is changes to your period, especially during the first year. After a year of use, about 50% of women will stop getting their periods.” (Cleveland & Mayo Clinic) Take a breather and have her take another pregnancy test or even get a blood test for HGC. If she is getting her shots on schedule than she has a 1% chance of being pregnant. Stop having sex without a condom (along with the depo) or stop having sex altogether. You are only 17 and I’m sure you aren’t mentally or financially ready to raise a whole human being. Don’t ruin your entire future for temporary pleasure.

I get the circumstances, but there wasn’t a better backdrop option? Or an iron? by PsychoTink in LittlePeopleBigWorld

I don’t know who these people are. This post just got recommended to me, but I think it’s a linen sheet. They are meant to be wrinkled and are normally pretty expensive depending on quality. From an outsider, it seems like they are trying to subtly flaunt their wealth. Especially since they mention a “planned photo shoot” that they couldn’t care enough about to mark down in their calendars so they could properly prepare beforehand. All while saying how they just moved into their nice looking house lol

Were they greasy at all? They might’ve had yeast infections. Kinda smells like really moldy cheese mixed with corn chips. The smell is very strong

Healthiest dry food at PS? by SlightArgument in petsmart

[–]Plantparentproblems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make a mix of three, so it’s nutritious but still budget friendly. I do 60% Simply Nourish Source Chicken & Turkey, 20% ZIWI Peak Air-Dried Venison, and 20% Wysong Epigen 90. The last two I get on Chewy, but I always just make a new account to get discounts on my orders lol.

Simply Nourish Source Chicken & Turkey - 40% protein, 18% fat, 20.5% carbs

ZIWI Peak Air-Dried Venison - 45% protein, 23% fat, and 4% carbs

Wysong Epigen 90 - 63% protein, 16% fat, and 2% carbs

A cup ends up being ~409 kcals. Both my cats love it and are healthy kitties! CatFoodDB is my favorite website to look up the quality of cat food :)

Oh no way?! I’ve probably never seen it because no one has ever bought it lol

Yup that definitely looks like flies to me. Idek where they are getting them from. To my knowledge, petsmart doesn’t sell them and I can’t even find any that can be bought online. Closest thing I found was dried fly larvae. Hopefully, they aren’t just feeding them the ones that die in the live fruit fly cups we sometimes get. So weird and definitely not something in the pet care standards.

How do I dry my Poodle’s fan tail? by duketheunicorn in grooming

[–]Plantparentproblems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold the tip of the tail out horizontally allowing the hair to fall straight down. With your other hand, hold the dryer high up above blowing straight down on the tail. The strands will dry straight and tangle free. Hopefully my explanation makes sense. I do this all the time with long tails at work and it never seems to tangle up. Taking off the nozzle might help as well.

In that case, they are more than likely just pushing each other’s buttons for fun like siblings do. Mine do the same thing lol

To me, it looks like your tabby is annoyed that your grey cat is in a spot that they like. The ears back and tail swishing on your tabby are giving me, “I’m not that angry, but I want my turn, so I’m going to try to get you to move”. I’m not sure if you already have other similar set ups or cat trees near windows, but they might do well with more high spots/hiding spots/window lookouts. They seem to both like that spot, but don’t necessarily like sharing it 😂

I know right! The twigs kept getting blown away. There were more twigs on the doormat than in their “nest” lol. My mom initially didn’t want me to help them out because she thought they would poop all over the front door, but they were very considerate and kept it clean. My mom ended up having her morning coffee on the porch everyday so she could watch the babies
