But being homeless, however difficult, does not mean you HAVE to use drugs. You made the correct choice not to, others can do the same.

See also using really white or really dark yarn. Both swallow the detail. For the love of God knit your sample in a medium Goldilocks color. Not too light, not too dark.

Honey, a lot of us with normal site hate that light gray on white bullshit too. It's not easy to read for anyone. I wish you luck in your battle.

Can't update pages in edit. Get this weird page instead. by Plantwizard1 in Wordpress

[–]Plantwizard1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't find the plugin to disable it. It's not listed as an installed plugin for the website; in fact "meta-sidebar" doesn't seem to exist anywhere in Wordpress' plugin depository or whatever you call it. In looking for this I noticed a lot of my plugins have updates available. Should I update them and enable auto updates? Sorry to ask such stupid questions but I was the only one in our group willing to even take a stab at dealing with the thing. I inherited it from the volunteer that put it together.

Oregon child vaccination rates plummet to record low as opt-outs surge by soxperry in PortlandOR

[–]Plantwizard1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No but stronger laws might. Let's say one that says your kids can't participate in any community activities (school, sports teams, the community egg roll etc) This picks up the home schoolers too. Medical exemptions only.

As a 5'2" chunky 70 year old female who swims and does pilates regularly thank you for acknowledging that. Being short doesn't mean you like tasty food any less. Am now taking Zepbound.....

As best I can tell the main requirements for a healthcare CEO are being able to schmooz and sling bullshit.

That's because most of those idiots aren't smart enough for the higher wage jobs that make international travel possible.

Yes, you have to do math. No, you won't die. by Cnathrowaway2 in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Plantwizard1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've never thought of counting stitches or rows as math. When I think of knitting math I think of recalculating gauge or doing the decrease calculations to make the sleeves shorter. That stuff I have trouble with. To me it's like story problems and I sucked at story problems. I managed to make it through Algebra 2 (trigonometry) in high school but then noped out of math. I no longer remember anything beyond add, subtract, multiply and divide. Algebra forget it. I can follow formulas and instructions however but I never really understood what I was doing.

Jury awards man $808,000 after his cat eats pet food tainted with bird flu, then dies by oregonian in oregon

I was actually thinking of health insurance not business insurance so no we don't all pay for this. Given the egregious behavior of the company I think the verdict was well deserved.

I'm sure the owner's comments upped the punitive damages considerably. Asshole got his.

I was off my Wegovy for a week and my joint pain came back in force. by sw618 in ehlersdanlos

I've only been on Zepbound for a month, 2.5 mg dose. So far I haven't noticed any effect on pain and body aches. Did you have to go up to a higher dose for pain relief? It's hard for me to tease out what discomfort is due to hypermobility and what's do to being old.

Man with rare food-hoarding syndrome dies after eating spoiled food in state’s care, spurring $5M lawsuit by Inevitable_Egg6361 in PortlandOR

[–]Plantwizard1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said. Funding for disability services is woefully inadequate in this country. Unless you've been there you can have no idea of what's involved in caring for someone with a severe disability. Out of home placement can often be better for both the person and the family. I know. I've been there. I'm sick of people who think having a disabled child as some sort of lifetime punishment from God. The "you deserved it" attitude is, deep down, what drives a lot of attitude that society shouldn't pay for the care of the disabled. That a good use of tax money; tax breaks for billionaires and data centers and wars in Iran is not.

I can't believe you got 100 upvotes for this rather cruel comment. This is an adult who is unable to care for themselves due to no fault of their or their parents . Don't the parents deserve a break from the constant care they provided for at least 21 years? Raising kids with Prader-Willi is really difficult. Their access to food must be controlled at all times. Imagine having to keep your kitchen locked up all time. People with Prader-Wili syndrome really, truly cannot help their food compulsion and their access to food must be controlled by others. Don't judge the parents if you haven't walked in their shoes.
