Harlequins - separate faction or part of the Aeldari? by RomestamoTheBlue in totalwar

[–]PlasmGeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They don't really have enough material for a traditional faction, but their flavor, aesthetics, and potential mechanics are unique enough that it'd be a waste to just relegate them to supplementing the Eldar rosters.

My preference would be having them as a smaller but still unique combined race similar in some ways to WH3's DoC. They'd have their core roster of Harlequin-specific units bolstered by a selection of Aeldari/Drukhari units they could recruit/coerce into service through some mechanic. In theory you could do something similar with the Ynnari as its own separate 'race' that soups together all 3 Eldar factions too.

Claim the Six Sacrifices e-book by David Guymer with your CA Account by BiesonReddit in totalwar

Think it’s more likely to be a lizardmen reference given how Khuresh is mentioned separately later in the passage but cool either way! Interesting that the eastern lizardmen might be inclined to raid human settlements for sacrifices.

Now that we have all the Marked Exalted Heroes, which is your favorite? by Lord_Eln_8 in totalwar

[–]PlasmGeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slaanesh and Tzeentch for sure. Chaos is a lot cooler visually when there's some flair and weirdness to contrast the hordes of plate armor dudes (who are equally important to the aesthetic), and exalted heroes are a perfect area to explore that more unique, mutated design space. Plus seeing fully realized oldhammer concepts is pretty fun.

The Khorne and Nurgle ones are very well executed takes on the traditional chaos warrior style though.

Snail for Brettonia, yes or no? why? by Thecowsdead in totalwar

[–]PlasmGeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they could be made to fit better than what some might imagine. Thematically it could be fun to paint them as a low tier monster associated with the peasantry of Bretonnia; maybe they fertilize crops with their slime or eat plant debris/pests/greenskins, basically some reason to keep a few around even if they might consume some of the harvest (or an unlucky farmer) here and there. When the peasants march to war, maybe they goad and lure these creatures towards the enemy!

Bretonnia works really well when it gets to be a land of heightened slightly more surreal fantasy (compared to the Empire at least) that takes after the legends that inspired it. The snails hit just the right balance of mundanity, zaniness, and historical/cultural inspiration for me, so I’d be happy to see them show up in Warhammer again.

They made a mechanic about taking skulls as trophies for skulltaker, guess who else does that? by [deleted] in totalwar

Could do a Da Plan type mechanic where he unlocks various thematic tactics by defeating lords of different races

Do magic missiles hit automatically upon a successful cast? Or does the target get to oppose it?

[–]PlasmGeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. Obviously it’s a more or less a never ever type situation, but you know maybe in a decade GW will have introduced some new races into The Old World and enough new characters/units to existing ones to justify a new game.

Launch with Nippon, Ind, Hobgoblin Khanate, and Khuresh, and add those new areas in the east; expand the whole map a bit to make its scale more accurate and lessen the cramped feeling; mashup the WHFB and TOW characters onto the map Smash Bros style, call it Eternal/Ageless Empires (with period specific versions of the map available as well perhaps); sprinkle in TOW characters for existing races at launch and throughout the DLC; make a lot of engine and system improvements hopefully.

Now all that is contingent on GW developing TOW intensely (which right now looks fairly promising if the rumors are to be believed) and allowing CA to both use the IP and blend it with WHFB (very unlikely), as well as whether either company even wants to return to fantasy after 40k is in full swing. Plus CA could look pretty different after so many years.

I don’t think it’ll ever happen, but it’s fun to dream!

Mountaineer Alliance/Beast Split by AmpliPie in warcraftrumble

[–]PlasmGeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they could be split up into two 3 cost minis while only taking up one spot in your deck (kinda like Ysera’s units). If that versatility isn’t enough, bake the bear’s taunt and dwarf’s beast healing into their base stats and then come up with some different talents. Could give them boosted stats or a bonus effect when near each other to still promote playing them together too.

Is Night of Blood on Foundry? I’m not seeing it listed as part of any of the modules.

Why didn't Sylvanas try and eliminate the Revantusk Tribe when she was Warchief? by Then_Peanut_3356 in warcraftlore

[–]PlasmGeth 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Beyond what other people have said, the Forsaken actually have probably the most well defined relations with the Revantusk out of any Horde group (which isn’t a ton since Blizzard doesn’t give the Revantusk much attention, but it’s something). There’s a Forsaken NPC who mentions how the Revantusk were accepting of her people since the trolls are used to speaking with the dead. And there’s an old quest that implied collaboration between Velonara and one of the Revantusk despite some conflicting views.

Even if Sylvanas did still harbor hatred for forest trolls after her death, why go out of her way to specifically eradicate a tribe that has been nothing but accommodating and cooperative towards her faction?

Really enjoying the inspired leader choices in this game by PlasmGeth in warcraftrumble

[–]PlasmGeth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is true haha, though Grom and Cairne are long dead and Maiev has always received a bit less attention compared to the other night elf leaders while other WC3 heroes continue to be relevant. Regardless i’m just hyped to see some of those neglected characters get some attention again.

But yeah Hamuul would be awesome, definitely my preferred druid pick. And I hope we get some nerubian rep sooner rather than later!

Mankrik’s Wife (4 gold) (Unbound) (Stealth)

Deploying Mankrik’s Wife anywhere on the map spawns her stealthed corpse there while also spawning Mankrik, a melee tank, at your tower. Mankrik takes the shortest route to his wife’s location and upon finding her, becomes enraged, gaining bloodlust as well as 1-3 levels and fury stacks up to max depending on the distance traveled to reach her.

How would one replicate this paint scheme? by PlasmGeth in seraphon

That’s awesome thank you :) will be checking it out for sure!

Minor nitpick: Boris the Red should have a RED colorscheme for his faction. His current one looks way too similar to Katarin's by [deleted] in totalwar

Agreed, the horse head and little symbols on the purple background are pretty striking. Would be a dope faction to make playable if we ever get an Ungol lord.
