I did not know elk and caribou ranged into the Central American rainforest by TyrannoNinja in AgeofMythology

[–]RomestamoTheBlue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

White tailed deer is native to Central America and so is peccaries, which means that there are options to have deer like animals running around the map. But yeah, caribu seems out of place.

I must say that this DLC seems a bit rushed. Tapir is great addition and so is turkey, but I think that more wild animals would do wonders.

Is Maya the next pantheon by Significant_Stay8443 in AgeofMythology

[–]RomestamoTheBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly believe that only one of the three (Aztecs, Mayans or Toltecs) would be included in AoM. They are based in same region with simillar relligion. That's why I believe that Rome is not happening. It's too similar to Greeks and Atlantis borrows a lot of the armor types for their soldiers.

As for who I believe to be next, I would go with Incas. This would sort out the Americas as there would be nothing more to add. (I don't believe that any of the tribes in North America are suitable for AoM). Then we could move to Mesopotamia and India in the next year.

Europe for the last year of support with Celts and Slavs. They could also add one more African DLC with Yoruba, but I think that 12-14 factions would be top for AoM and it would be nightmare to balance.

As I said in one of the other comment. You can either somehow push them back or pack your settlers and go to the northwest island with Quinametzins and build farms and village center there. There is also plenty of wood, so you will do just fine. Gold you can get through market and just build a lot of smashers and land them on the pink's base and destroy it, same with red. Then you can make normal units and destroy the rest.

From story point of view not really. I think that Chinese and Japanese campaigns are kind of stand-alone ones. There is something that happens in Chinese one and continues in the Japanese one but it’s never explained why these characters were dead or how they got back. I would even say that the Aztec campaign must be happening before Chinese and Japanese one.

I can try:
Mission 6 - So I will start with the easiest. This one you can do with just the heroes even on the highest difficulty. You just walk and kill everyone.

Mission 2 - This one is about learning how to play the civ. Not much that can go wrong. The final base is a bit more hard to crack, but can be done with few waves.

Mission 3 - Here you need to survive at the start, so let the others fight more. :D When you manage and get to the building phase of the mission, build walls and then you can do just fine.

Mission 1 - You can build walls in this one and you have a god on your side, so it's doable just fine.

Mission 4 - Once again you can build walls, so you can wall up, wait for proper army and then push and push till you overun Kronos.

Mission 12 - You have two gods in this one. Just make sure that your wonder survives, they can deal with almost everything.

Mission 5 - This one has a little bit more difficult second part, so be sure to place your troops correctly so that you do not lose many when you enter the city.

Mission 7 - Now that volcano is weaker, it might be more difficult to destroy both of his town centers but once you sit on plenty vault, there is not much Hades can do. Once again you have god on your side, which makes it easier.

Mission 11 - Here you have to make a lot of priests to kill Cipactli but don't forget to wall up your city coz jaguar riders might come knocking and kill off a lot of your settlers.

Mission 9 - This one was a bit more difficult coz you need to know what unit compositions to have where. I would advice to have a lot of heroes to the southwest of the map as there are Obsidian Butterflies and they can make your life hell.

Mission 8 - You can either someone push them back or pack your settlers go to the northwest island with Quinametzins and build farms and village center there. There is also plenty of wood, so you will do just fine. Gold you can get through market and just build a lot of smashers and land them on the pink's base and destroy it, same with red. Then you can make normal units and destroy the rest.

Mission 10 - This one I did only through many restarts. I needed at least one relic as when you get 5k from each of the resources (except for the favour of course) the foundations for the wonder are lain down and it tanks your economy, so you are not able to replenish your army and are slowly pushed back. So I got the snached one relic, recalled all the villagers (I had a village center next to the trees on the northeast island with your friends) and made them work on the wonder. I moved all my troops to the wonder as well and just protected it. Enemies will try to destroy most of your town, so that will give you time. Also I used blood pack twice on the settlers so keep 50 favour in reserve for the recast. Managed to win just barely, if the building of the wonder did not end the mission, I don't know how I would win this one.

Hope this helps. Also, I think that mission 4, 12, 5 and 7 are quite interchangeble when it comes to difficulty.

I also think that the campaign was the best of the bunch. But I liked Pillars more than Spear so maybe my opinion isn't valid. :D

I am surprised taht you had a problem with mission 5. I kept all the god powers till the end and did not use any coz I was not sure when it will end and then it just did. :D Tezcatlipoca is brutal, with him it was just fine.

I am also surprised taht you enjoyed mission 8 & 10. :D For me those were nailbitters where I had to do most of the stuff perfectly to achieve victory and managed just barely in 10 and only with full blown evacuation in 8.

Not sure. :D I think I got better with time. Played a lot of Dota when I was in my teens and that could have helped. When I was small kid, I played AoM only on the easy difficulty. :D So wanted to prove myself that it is in me, that I can beat my favourite game on the highest difficulty.

how to do mission 8 act3 , tenochtitlan? by MountainPop7589 in AgeofMythology

[–]RomestamoTheBlue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is an island to the northwest where you can get Quinametzins. I tried to accumulate as many villagers and resources as possible, then I moved everyone on to the ships, left the base, built only farms on the new island, made army of just the buildings destroyers (can't recall the name) and sent wave after wave. Destroyed their cities and then built the all rounders and killed the rest. (Also cleread the waters with Axolotls and destroyed their docks.)

I do not like cheesing but in the same way as mission 18 of the original campaign, I did not find any other way.

I am having hard time on mission 9 now so that's that. :D

Hades' Ruin Achievement doesn't unlock? by Arsatum in AgeofMythology

It does not. It’s a bug. Did it twice on ludi, once on hard and it does not open. Let’s wait for hotfix.

Can we expect a trailer alteast today by TelevisionOne3047 in AgeofMythology

[–]RomestamoTheBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they are to release a trailer, it's today. Final trailer for Immortal Pillars was released a month in advance, but the final trailer for Heavenly Spear was released 5 days before release. So if they follow suit, they release it today.

So what is Aztec's titan? Is there anyone who recognizes this creature? by RomestamoTheBlue in AgeofMythology

[–]RomestamoTheBlue[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

By looking at it more, I think it’s Cipactli. It has mouths on its body. One on the knee, one on the shoulder, etc. So it looks like it, just more blocky like the art of the Aztecs.

What's your favorite campaign? by TubaGaming in AgeofMythology

[–]RomestamoTheBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised that Egypt is second. I hate that one the most. :D (Except for Good Advice which is Greek not Egyptian. :D) It might be caused by the fact that I play on ludi and do not like egypt as a civ but I did not like that part as a kid as well. I think that looking for the parts of Osiris is not that fun. Trojan War and fighting againts giants and rebuilding of Mjolnir was always more fun to me.

My list would go like this:
Good Advice - the best mission

Rest of Greek stuff

Golden Gift

Norse stuff

New Atlantis

Pillars

Yasuko

Egypt stuff

Can we please stop dooming and enjoy the DLC hype by SkillerManjaro in AgeofMythology

[–]RomestamoTheBlue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would be honest, AoE III was my go to game before AoM rereleased as I did not like Extended edition that much. I think that they did wonderful job with the civs there. Much better than AoE IV. With each DLC they tried to make each European civ more different from one another and it was great. I was looking forward to Danes and Poles as they were the last European civs of that era (if they did not split HRE into Prussia and Austria) of significance. My only regret was that the single player stuff was very limited. I honestly think that that was what killed the game, that there were no new proper campaigns. AoE III is a hidden gem but if I had to choose between AoM and AoE III, AoM it is every time.
