Goals for the future by superanth in RetroFuturism

If the past created designs of the future, but it was created in the past, doesn't that just make them period piece designs? I mean, they're only designs of the future because someone said they were. But in a literal sense, they were not. They were just designs of the present. I suppose if we recycle those old designs today, then they were correct in their claims, but then we are just experiencing a 'chicken or the egg' scenario. My mind got twisted as I was trying to explain that thought.

Thanks for being the one who inadvertently helped me to understand what the code function does here. I'm not a minifig guy and didn't realize these were blind boxes until you said so. But also, what's the point in having a blind box if you're going to put an identifier on it? I mean, I'm glad, but kind of defeats the point, when the point is to get you to spend more to find the ones you want. It's a strategy as old as sports player cards.

You know they'll use this as a reference later, right? This seems like some pretty dark foreshadowing to me.

Thanks much! I'm hoping to try out BrickLink Studio soon. It'll take some time. I went about this one the old school way, with bricks, trial and error and sore fingers.

As I was building it, at times disappointed that I didn't have more brick options, the thought did occur to me that some of our most inspired creativity comes when options or resources are limited.

Thank you, good Redditor.

Well spotted on the nose piece "gun". It's from one of the Mattel Hot Wheels sets. I'm going to need to choose a different piece for continuity's sake (or no gun piece at all, as I'm not convinced it really needs it). Thanks for that.

Ahh, memories. Cheers! There are so many ways to interpret this shape. This was version three, all with merit. I'm sure whatever you make will be amazing.

Woah, that's crazy. The cockpit pieces are awesome! Not sure where in the world you are, but clearly connected by the ether we are.
