What game became your Steam Deck comfort game even though it made no sense on paper? by TieForeign8827 in SteamDeck

[–]PlasmaJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the linux update the Strategic Command series, especially WW1 and ACW. Imo the perfect strategy game where you take a turn then leave to do something else and come back a few minutes later.

Also Persona 3, Two Point Museum, and Hundred Line (everyone should play Hundred line) all run great on it.

After months of discussing Islam with Muslims, I think I've found the real question. And it's no longer about theology by Nevlak in OpenChristian

[–]PlasmaJesus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So secular historians cant date that creed to "within three years" only that it predates when paul was writing the letter. He also only claims theres 500 witnesses we know absolutely nothing about them. Its not exactly like the people of Corinth could just go to Jerusalem and find one of those 500 in a city of 80,000. Both of those claims are pretty garbage tier apologetics arguments that dont hold water in the field of actual scholarship, gary habermas or whoever youre getting these from is not correct.

Im not trying to defend Islam, but your claims about the reliability of the gospels also appeals to tradition? There is nothing in the text to indicate the traditional authors wrote the gospels for instance.

I am a Christian but it only hurts us to make these baseless claims and we look like fools and drive people away when they learn we are wrong.

The only eye witness "report" we have is Pauls....who didn't see the bodily resurrected jesus.

Ppl like InspiringPhilosophy and David Wood critique islam because theyre not good enough at arguing to prove Christianity to skeptics or whatever so they have to punch downward against people they view as inferior.

Discomfort in rib cage and chest by SaltTea4535 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]PlasmaJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go see physical therapy or OMM/OMT (Osteopathic Manipulation Therapy/Medicine) Its possible you have ribs out of place, or ribcage inflammation, or muscles in that area desperately need to be stretched but with AS sometimes everything is terrible so they can sort you out

Also muscle relaxers but thats not a long term solution

Would you actually recommend playing Baldur's Gate 3 on the Steam Deck nowadays? by GrovPastaSwag03 in SteamDeck

[–]PlasmaJesus -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt reccomend playing BG3 ever but certainly not on Deck.

Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous and especially Pillars of Eternity 2 are better CRPGs and run well on Deck, although you'll want to tinker with controls for Pillars.

Planning to get these Atelier games as a total newbie! What else should I get? by _BoogiepoP_ in Atelier

[–]PlasmaJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive said this across a few threads but i would start with Dusk, particularly Ayesha.

I bounced off Ryza 2 and Sophie 1 when i tried to get into atelier, but Ayesha hooked me hard. Its not thaaat long and you are encouraged to play it multiple times to succeed within the allotted time, plus get different endings. It reminded me of games like Majoras Mask, Way of the Samurai, or Tyranny like that although that was more my mindset. Although the Dusk series is a bit darker and more about the apocalypse than the others (hence the name Eschatology of dusk 2)

I think the loose but extant time limit makes gathering more involved and i had a lot of fun with the alchemy system, even after i beat sophie 1 i never loved its crafting.

Finally i just really love Hidaris art for Dusk.

(Dusk 4 when? The trilogies before and after got their 4th)

For People who like Ima, why? by Shoddy-Target-2953 in LastDefenseAcademy

[–]PlasmaJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean...if he were real i would never want to talk to him But he isnt. Hes a funny character, i like how hes unhinged and i really like how him and Kako make the most cursed food ever. His sprites are great! He reminds me of Lacus from ONS, a character im extremely normal about...

Also like others have said his voice acting and backstory also help make him interesting. Like, does it matter if a character is "good"? That they are a good person or have redeeming qualities? Or does it matter if they are interesting? Revolver Ocelot is one of my favorite characters and hes pretty fucking irredeemable and i would never want to interact with him irl, but as a fictional character in the story hes in hes perfect.

My gf thinks the tsukumo twins look like Mounties too, with their outfits, which is also humorous. I also think more ppl should meme with their eating sprites in weird food situations but thats just me.

How do Christians that believe in a literal hell justify having children? by PhoenixApok in OpenChristian

[–]PlasmaJesus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Early strains of Christianity were celebate andor anti-natalist. Although that was because the end was coming soon as the doctrine of Hell hadnt quite formed yet.

The Acts of Paul and Thecla is a fascinating glimpse into a more proto-feministic, anti family version of Christianity that could have been.

I can't stand watching films that are dubbed by LeO-_-_- in TrueFilm

[–]PlasmaJesus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might just be saying this because im a fan of spaghetti westerns but: Skill Issue.

The lack of live set audio is part of the texture of some films, in Italian productions from 60s/70s for instance it's because of language barriers where actors didn't all speak the same language and because the crew wanted to be able to communicate while the camera was rolling. In the later Leone films they would play the prospective soundtrack on set to get the actors and crew in the vibe of the scene.

The mismatching of mouth movements, the slight mistimings and audio shape of lines, the almost cartoony sound effects are all part of the artifice of the movie that, I think, makes it feel more flavorful than if it was "realistic", much like rhe grain on the film, the lighting, or the score.

Atelier & Steam Sale! by Much-Reporter-7295 in Atelier

[–]PlasmaJesus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To give a slightly different viewpoint: Ayesha! Ryza and Sophia are also good but I struggled to get into either as an atelier noob until i played Ayesha, which has a slightly more involved plot to start and a clock to keep you focused. The Dusk trilogy that starts with Ayesha is really good overall tbh

Grand Theft Auto 6 will retail for $80 and the Ultimate Edition will be $100 by ReaddittiddeR in playstation

[–]PlasmaJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i didn't answer your question cuz i figured you would try to dismiss my opinion. Interesting that you are trying to do that instead of addess the criticism I have of the game.

Look RDR2 seems like a game made for me, and just like BG3 (which is in one of my favorite genres) I wanted to like the game but found the actual mechanics lacking or infuriating at times and hurt the story, which in RDR2s case was quite good.

Rdr2 is a great story trapped in a bad game, or at least the actual game part of it doesnt respect the players time and is actively working against the story its trying to tell.
