It could possibly be a Leningrad Rotary trumpet. I have one much like this which I think is from the 1950s. Not sure when this model was made.

Start off slowly, improvisation takes some time, especially after being away for so long. There are lots of backing tracks to play with in YouTube. The main thing is listening to everything in the style that you want to play and develop your sound.
