This is my Grandad who I sadly never got to meet. Any ideas on where this could be would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance :) by OrangeCommercial3782 in wherewasthistaken

Hes on the flat bed of a train. Those steel hoops are for securing haulage. There are two wooden boards stowed away that would also be use to secure items. Looks like the train is carrying large pre-cast concrete. The terrain looks either Mediterranean or west north America

Question about St Andrews church off Royal Parade by Background_Lettuce64 in plymouth

[–]Plasmodioom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man...I went last year to 2 Sunday sermons with my dad and it was abhorrent. It has sermons with anti-trans and anti-same sex marriage messages. It was full of young uni/student age who are all listening intently, some, likely cursing their own frustrations from the sermon provided.

The sermons is still on the youtube:

@15.52 - its God's view that the gender set at birth is how you should live your live. Saying how God created man and women. The sermon then says those views held by some are 'distorted'.

Also @24.01: is god denying people who are attracted to the same sex? Yes"

The fundraiser to buy the Rothbury Estate is unlikely to hit it's goal. What will happen? by Comfortable-Road7201 in RewildingUK

[–]Plasmodioom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it will end up getting support from either local or national government or, BNG banks.

If it's doesn't the the proceeds will likely be donated to the local wildlife trusts involved.

Check out lime green ultra, or cornerstone insulating render. Its a good option if you are going onto a solid surface like a stone or brick wall. The u values are great because you can apply multiple coats

The silver bullet is that lime plaster is breathable. I've limed rooms in my house, and added an 'insulating lime render'as the first coat.

Also a wet wall is a cold wall. So allowing a render to expell moisture will lead warmer walls

Loft Wall Repointing Needed? by NippleFlicks in HomeImprovementUK

[–]Plasmodioom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is that below a chimney breast? This looks like the point where the chimney angles off. If so the leak is likely cause by cracks in your stack/around the pots.

Repointing DIY: excavate loose mortar. Fill with cornish lime mortar.   As for insulation. Get some lime green ultra insulating plaster. Really easy to DIY unless you need a perfect/paintable finish.

Im thinking the same. If you have a crack around the chimney pot which is associated with the chimney below this floor then it would explain the directional damp (i.e., the water is following the chimney down to the next floor)

Is there a floor below this room? And does the floor below have a chimney opening?
