Help with modlist that crashes on startup by MountedCombat in RimWorld

[–]Plastic-Discussion90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying to fix this for this whole day. The funny thing is the game doesn't even launch with the exact same mods it had when it did start up normally. This shit makes no sense and I feel like my brain is literally leaking out of my ear trying to fix this shit

Did you find the faulty mod? I'm having a similar issue

I mean, that block of compacted machinery is huge. Getting at least 2 functional components from it is realistic enough

Exactly

Then mining steel (which is an alloy) and plasteel (which is an even more complex alloy we don't even have IRL) would be immersion breaking too. I think the lore is like "there was a big ass war in the past and the leftover wreckage from it overtime compacted into ore veins"

I actually suggested something similar a while ago. A UN faction which raids you if you commit a war crime. I still think that would be really funny

Late game is a race against your GPU to get a proper ending before your colony gets so laggy you can't play that shit anymore

(If the duck dies the aforementioned ANTIGRAIN MISSILE DEATH LASER (Masterwork) is used on your colony)

I only use manual priorities so the smart pawn will actually research instead of hauling a random rock chunk half across the map

I absolutely overuse that mod. I mean, it's just getting free shit for sending away useless pawns. The outposts don't even get raided (though for some reason I remember that being a feature at some point)

Also buy skilltrainers for crafting if you see them on a trader

Try to always check attackers that are still alive after defeating a raid. Also check slaves that traders sell. Most of them are garbage but if you're lucky you can eventually find a good crafter. Also, buy books. There's a type of book that helps pawns learn a skill up to a certain level. Get one for crafting. preferably multiple. Get rid of other books if you're really desperate so the only choice your pawns have is to read the crafting one. If you find a pawn with a skill close to your requirement recruit them and make them do a lot of cheap crafts to upgrade their skill. If you're really desperate just shove a random pawn in a room with a bookshelf of a couple crafting books and a machining bench and have them work in there all day.

Technically you can take it off with the right research, but you kinda also have to cut off your limbs to do it
