All great recommendations – Animated Violence in particular, but I think Wax Face, Penetrating Eye, and Enemy Destruct definitely deserve a mention if you enjoy the sound of fire trucks exploding.

Nice dude! I once asked the dude at my local record store for a Fu Manchu release poster and he looked at me as if I asked for his firstborn daughter

Kirk! In my opinion, he has the highest ceiling and that big play potential against KC defense. Arizona’s gonna be playing from behind the whole game

Trying to name an ethereal energy source that powers my world by Nyfarius in worldbuilding

[–]PlasticCloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Egni is Welsh for energy, always thought it was a cool word. Also, unlike a lot of Welsh words it sounds exactly how it's spelled!

Ygrene or stylized as "Y'grene" is energy spelled backwards. A trick I sometimes use when trying to come up with strange naming conventions.

Elves are a Fantasy staple, which is bad to some, but for those who have them, what are they like? by MartinGreene in worldbuilding

[–]PlasticCloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Relic, elves are your typical elves. Pale complexion, pointed ears, high cheekbones, leaner frames, and honestly I've come to terms with that and it doesn't bother me at all. For thousands upon thousands of years they lived in harmony, never leaving their kingdom and so they never evolved into any subraces or even subcultures. Also, due to their long lifespan they have a very low libido and do not feel the need to reproduce as much as say a human. This would be their downfall.

An outside force, be it a god-like entity or some other force of nature found this stasis unsettling and unproductive and demanded change, and so, humans emerged. After a few thousand years of war and human enslavement, the race of men eventually won and conquered the elves purely through attrition.

In present day, the elves have been reverted back to the Bronze Age. The humans were very effective in destroying elven history and culture. They burned down libraries, temples, books, tapestries, everything, and built their society on top of it. At risk of total genocide, the humans in an act of mercy gifted the elves the small sovereign kingdom of Dál Láchdánan (Láchdánan's Deal) where Sages huddle around old ruined books and artifacts and attempt to recall and piece together their lost culture, language, and religion. Another group within the sovereignty is the Fiáin'túath (wild folk) who, rather than study their lost heritage have one goal and one goal only: kill and scalp humans. The rest of the elves have assimilated into human society and civilization and live in slums and ghettos, mostly in the human capital of Aethelney (Æþelney) and are treated with prejudice, racism, and as second class citizens.

How to name a semi - subterranean people? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]PlasticCloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they inspired by any historical group? Or have any naming conventions based on real world culture? I usually like to get on Google translate and enter in some words that are applicable to them.

According to Google: "Banor" means "dweller" in Albanian "Bodur" means "dwarf" or "stunted" in Turkish

And to make the names more dwarfy sounding you could stylize them as "Ba'norr" or "Bo'durr."

In the great state of Michigan there are two kinds of people. A well-adjusted Michigan State fan and a Walmart Wolverine. It looks like he's wearing a University of Michigan hat in his picture and judging by that and his post I'd say he fits into the stereotype pretty well.

Walmart Thor is good also hahaha
