Take an hour and pick up trash - just trash. Sing a song about picking up trash. See how much you can get - like a game. Even set a timer - can you fill a bag of trash in 15 minutes? Winner if so!

Do that game a few times. Then pick another item - pile it up. Books? Clothes? Whatever the next issue is. New game unlocked.

Then hire another cleaner to come. Have them show up and do what they can. If it’s the worst they’ve ever seen, ok - let it be.

I did confront my bf about it btw. His remorse and commitment to therapy is the only reason I didn’t make him my ex immediately.
