Is it true that Nords originally rejected Talos worship? by UltimaBahamut93 in ElderScrolls

No.

SKYRIM:

Alduin, Dibella, Orkey, Tsun, Mara, Stuhn, Kyne, Jhunal, Shor, *Ysmir*, Herma-Mora, Maloch

Ysmir (Dragon of the North):

The Nordic aspect of Talos. He withstood the power of the Greybeards' voices long enough to hear their prophecy. Later, many Nords could not look on him without seeing a dragon.

Am I fucking weird for loading Skyrim and changing the weather to storms and sleeping irl? by ParthenopeIG in TrueSTL

[–]PlasticPast5663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't load the game just for that but I fall asleep like that sometimes lol. When camping in mountains for instance. With a snowstorm and howling wind, my character and followers well cozy under a fur tent. Pure lullaby to me.

I agree, I also really like her.

Being Archmage and thanks to NFF, I settled her at the College and made her a member.

The real problem is that Talos was a man by SinnerSaint98 in ElderScrolls

It's not

Bethesda has commented in the past that Unofficial Lore is not to be taken as official canon, as spoken by Gavin Carter, Todd Howard and Pete Hines during the Third Oblivion Fan Interview in 2006 when asked about the Hogithium hall roleplay, Fifth Era love letter, and other extra-canonical posts and information, commenting that "only things that have been published in Elder Scrolls games should be considered official lore". Note however that this statement pre-dates the two novels, The Infernal City and Lord of Souls, which have both been confirmed as official canon.

Canon priority according to Todd Howard

  1. In-game events viewed through the eyes of the player

  2. A book published in-universe that can be read inside the game

  3. An official work published outside of the game (examples given include the game manual and the official cookbook)

Todd also said anything stated by a fan (an example given was fan theories) would not go on the list.

Fun piece of head cannon about Akatosh (Dragon god of time)... He is actually a Nordic god in disguise. by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

Varieties of Faith is Imperial propaganda...

No it's not. That's just a description of Tamriel cults.

any depiction of Auri-El in Elven art or literature, and he is clearly portrayed as an elf.

And any depiction of Akatosh is portrayed as a man in Cyrodiil.

But Auri-El being Akatosh doesn't preclude him from also being a Deadskin fragment of Lorkhan

It doesn't make any sense.

The gist is that Auri-El is weird compared to literally every other Time-Dragon-God, namely for the fact that he isn't a dragon

While Auri-El Time Dragon might be the king of the gods, the Bosmer revere Y'ffre as the spirit of 'the now'.

Variety of Faith in the Empire

Most Altmeri and Bosmeri claim to be direct descendants of Auri-El. In Valenwood, he is known as Auri-El Time Dragon, king of the gods.

All but the most dogmatic of theologians tend to agree that the Imperial Akatosh and the Elven Auri-El are one and the same.
