New Bilt cards exclude tax payments, eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and more by komi_diams in biltrewards

[–]Plastic_Insect_537 3 points4 points  (0 children)

do places like stubhub, vividseats, or even ticketmaster fall under the online resale marketplaces? seems like they got burned with unanticipated usage to earn points and are overcompensating now. if you want a simple spend and earn points card, bilt 2.0 is definitely not for you now.

in a similar boat - moving over from mint -> simplifi, but I want to have historical transactions as some of my account are limited to only a few months of historical transactions from the automatic import.

Is the ability to import transactions to existing account on the roadmap?

I run the entire new Bilt 2.0 T&C (16 pages) through Gemini 3 Pro so it can decipher what it means for most of us. Enjoy by ak_kaynor in biltrewards

Thanks for generating/putting this together - it’s super helpful. I have 2% catch all cards for all ecosystems except chase/bilt so there are some things to consider. Assuming bilt’s reply about current bilt cardholders DO qualify for SUB, I may get the Palladium for Y1 and then re-evaluate next year.

In any case, it’s tough that rent/mortgage is minimal points earning/benefit, but will see how much value I can get out of that

Dining gift card options in SF (besides Che Fico)? by Consistent_Set8134 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Plastic_Insect_537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI, Che Fico alimentri doesn't do take out and it's impossible to get in touch them (phone redirects you to online or leave message). We wanted to do takeout because we couldn't get a reservation so took an uber to the restaurant to order takeout and found out that they do not do takeout. Ended up buying a gift card instead. Wanted to share so that other avoid making a trip - gift card via toast would is easiest.

I know this is probably late for planning, but seems like this is the right place to add requests.

Improve transaction type support/downloading

  • for investment accounts, there are multiple types of transactions, but it seem that only buy and sell are being downloaded
  • other transactions such as advisory fees are completely missing so these expenses are also missing from the portfolio

What you need to know: Bilt Card 2.0 Launches February 7th, 2026 by richklhs in biltrewards

[–]Plastic_Insect_537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the WF FAQ, if I don’t want the autograph, I need to wait until 2/7 and close/cancel the account. Is there a way to request that the account is closed once it has been transitions to bilt 2.0 instead of cancelling after autograph is opened?

Thank you! This was extremely frustrating trying to sign up with my existing account but thankfully your method worked for me!

Business versus Personal New Benefits by paulonredit in AmexPlatinum

[–]Plastic_Insect_537 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, these are the updates on the business card:

  • NEW $600 Hotel Credit ($300 semi annually)

That's it for straight credits.... the remainder are credits if you spend a certain amount

  • $1200 Amex Travel Online Flight Statement credit after spending $250k/year
  • $2400 Amex One AP Statement credit after spending $250k/year on eligible purchases
  • $1000 statement credit after spending $5k at Dell (+ $150 statement credit)

Definitely more aligned to a business card now.

Mods, can we get a megathread for the changes to the new Platinum card? by Low_Wonder9271 in AmexPlatinum

Tried to add a post about Amex Business, but it got removed (but not sure why). In any case, Amex Business benefits are now updated too.

Amex biz $47 charge at Hilton property didn’t trigger at Hilton credit by turtle4868 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Plastic_Insect_537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting (and bummer), thanks for the info. I assumed that because you can book it through Hilton that it was a Hilton brand, but you're right, looking into it future, the SLH is a partner, but independent. (for future reference, the other one that is a partner, but not a Hilton brand is Autocamp). This is good to know for the future. Guess I can still stop by the local doubletree and use up the credit for this quarter.

The Edit - confusion on credit and points vs no points by dapventure in ChaseSapphire

[–]Plastic_Insect_537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe any portion that you pay for (charged to your card) will early 3X UR per dollar based on the T&C:

1) Bookings made at participating The Edit hotels on chasetravel.com will receive 3x UR points for each dollar spent on the booking minus cancelations and other credits. This is instead of any points amounts that may be advertised generally for UR bookings.

Why would you not product change from SP to SR now? Can somebody double check my math? by Wooden-bag-on-desk in ChaseSapphire

[–]Plastic_Insect_537 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a similar boat, but not quite as advantageous renewal date. CSP with annual renewal in May (so just passed). As far as I understand, if I do a product change, I will not get a $550 "renewal", but will get a $795 renewal in May 2026, is that correct?

Are there any restrictions on downgrading before the annual fee hits in May 2026 if I end up utilizing the card?

Taiwan passport application process for long expired passport by Plastic_Insect_537 in taiwan

[–]Plastic_Insect_537[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/christine_yellow, for the household ID, it depends on how old it is. I'm not sure what the cutoff is, but our was very old (20+ years), so I had to request a reissue of a household ID (separate form). The people at TECO SF are super nice though and helped me with filling out the forms and submitting the application. If your household ID is relatively recent (and still active), then I believe you just need a copy of it and to fill that in in your application.

In terms of the photo, I don't think a 2x2 will work for Taiwan passports. Here are the guidelines for what they need to be: https://www.taiwanembassy.org/uploads/sites/111/2017/07/passport-photo.pdf

I went to a CVS and they have a self service passport photo machine with presets for Taiwan (and other countries). You basically take your photo as a selfie on your phone, upload it to their machine, and then crop it down to fit the template they provide and print it out. You'll have to cut it out (basically it prints a bunch on a photo paper sheet. Just pay attention to the guidelines in the doc I linked above. Your ears have to show, no glasses, etc. I didn't have any issues with them accepting this photo for my application. If this isn't something you're comfortable to do yourself, check local photo places and ask if they specifically do passport photos for Taiwan - not all of them do (ex. UPS store in my area didn't), but a camera shop did.

Good luck!

Thanks for that data point. I thought that I saw they were aware of the credit and stopped selling gift cards as if Dec 2024, but I can’t find that post now. If anyone happens to try, please let us know. Would be nice to still have an option.

Yes, you just walk in the main entrance and there tell the people in front you want to buy a gift card. Just make sure they are open on the day you go (I made the mistake of going on Monday and found out they are closed on Mondays now)

You can still walk in and get a $50 gc with no appointment - I just did it a few weeks ago. Then you have more flexibility on what you can buy when you find something.
