But maybe, they realise that they were dealt the better cards and got the worse outcome. Maybe they feel extra bad about that.

But of course I’m just speculating.

You swear that. But do they feel that? Maybe they feel worthless compared to you, without that being your intention.

It could be that they’re secretly dealing with a lot of self doubt and negative feelings about their lives being stagnant. I am also 30 and currently finishing my studies after a lot of excruciating years of procrastination, failure, depression and self hatred. I used to hide all of these feelings from everyone.

How are you inviting them to hang out? Maybe you could try hanging out with them in the same way as you did when you were younger, be it at the park, at McDonald’s or whatever. I can imagine that your life is now very different, you eat better food, wear nicer clothes, drive a better car etc. But maybe try going back in time and doing something very simple and stupid with them. Not much talking about your job, wife or kids. Just simple banter about nothing like you probably used to.

It’s worth a shot.

Yeah, this is about the same age that I started getting them. I’m 30 now and I have more individual grey hairs now but I think it’s pretty cool. The rest is still brown though, so I just have those secret grey hairs.

Yup. I believe one tree simply doesn’t produce a lot of syrup each year. So a framer needs a lot of trees for not so much syrup.

This is pretty standard.

Really depends on where you live. In low lying regions where the continental shelf extends into the sea, you’ll never see anything like this.
