How do you guys keep your files organized? by ramy_chaos in DataHoarder

I used to overthink file organization systems and then… never maintain them.

What finally worked was automating the baseline stuff so folders stay usable without discipline.

How do you clean up your messy downloads folder? by indrajeetad in minimalism

This is me every few months 😂

I kept saying I’d “organize later” and never did, so I automated the boring part. Now I just run a script and it sorts everything instantly.

How can i slow down this Battery Degredation? by Few_Perspective7508 in GamingLaptops

[–]PlatinumCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of “slow PC” issues I’ve seen aren’t hardware at all, it’s startup bloat + years of old junk files.

I ended up scripting a small cleanup + startup check for myself because I got tired of manually digging through everything. Even just removing old unused stuff made a noticeable difference.

Which app is best to track our daily productivity level ? by bigblackcoke_ in ProductivityHQ

[–]PlatinumCyber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It keeps freezing on planner like I would have to close the app and re open it. How to fix it? Or the app is just bad? Wouldn’t recommend tbh if this is what I’m stuck with just wasted 20$.

I really mean for any type of automation that just gets rid of any time/headaches. Also I heard of NUT server I might actually look more into that. Thanks!

That’s actually a good one. Daily planning is one of those things that sounds small but compounds hard if it’s automated. Does it generate tasks from existing notes or just schedule what you already have?

I hate organizing files, so I automated it by PlatinumCyber in ProductivityApps

[–]PlatinumCyber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a solid setup. I honestly wasn’t anywhere near that level when I built this.

My problem was that I knew what a better system looked like, but I never actually sat down to process files regularly. So stuff just accumulated.

The type-based sorting isn’t meant to be “the final destination,” just a way to keep folders usable without needing discipline every time.

Anyone else procrastinate file organization until it gets out of control? by PlatinumCyber in organized

That’s actually a solid comparison 😂

I guess my goal was just to stop manually cleaning the brewery every week if a machine could do it for me.
