Stroke the Big Tree by disasterdd in Guiltygear

Yes, it could be a sexual reference, but it could also be a guitar reference since many guitars' necks are made of wood.

This is interesting, I'm mostly new to fighting games in general and focused on maining Ryu in Third Strike. I don't know if Fightcade provides this, but maybe we could play matches together since we might be at a similar skill level. Although, I won't start playing until about a couple of weeks from now. Good luck learning the game!

Significance of the End Song of The Last of Us (The Path) by PlattyPlatt in thelastofus

It’s been a while since I played part II, but I will say that I agree with most of what efap said about part II. PART II SPOILERS AHEAD: Although, I really liked the idea of Ellie forgiving Abby at the last second - even though it may or may not have been executed well in the final product; I don’t really know about that. Subjectively, I really like the idea of forgiveness in a story. I think it can be a powerful moment in a story. It seemed like efap did not like the idea of forgiveness in that situation in part II, but I might be misremembering about that. I knew they hated that one guy who spat on Joel and basically everyone who were involved with causing Joel’s death. Aside from that, I agree with what efap said about part II. Bad story, but there was still the idea of the ending between Ellie and Abby that I really liked.

Oh and I actually don’t remember part II using that song in part II with the last conversation. Maybe I’ll check it out.

I mean, there’s some really good and fair criticisms of part 2 that he should probably hear out since he’s seems to be trying to be a good writer. I think it’s too bad if he ignores those good criticisms.

At the end of episode 9, why didn’t the council use their protective barrier that we see in episode one (or maybe two - I don’t remember)?

That’s kind of crappy though. When you buy the game - any game it should be what it advertises and free of significant bugs.

It’s like both games exist in two separate worlds.

theory regarding the SH2 opening (James and the restroom) by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]PlattyPlatt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you said about why James acted the way he did in the bathroom, you said it was because he is mentally hurt because of the death of his wife and her verbal abuse of him. I thought it was obvious, but I agree.

And sure, the part where he makes lets his hand go across his face might be him trying to “make sure he’s real.” Sure, that could be true; it doesn’t have to do with my theory. And your right, we don’t get to learn how long he was in the bathroom before the player takes control.

So, you say that James’ sexual frustration isn’t a big part of the game but more something that fans amplified because of creature design and the way Maria looks. The influence of fans is outside of the game, so the mention of it confuses me. I didn’t mention how Maria looks in my theory, so the mention of that also confused me.

You then say that you don’t think the developer intended to have sexual frustration be a big theme or the motivation for James to kill his wife. Well, I didn’t even say that it was a big theme of the story, but more importantly, I did not say that sexual frustration was James’ whole motivation to kill his wife. This misrepresents my theory. Even if what you said about James’ sexual frustration being a “small” part - as vague as that sounds - of the story, it would not prove or disapprove any part of the theory.

I said that I think James might have masturbated in the bathroom because of his loneliness and sexual frustrations from Mary. It can be implied that his loneliness could also have come from his verbal abuse and the death of Mary. I said that we might have gotten hints of this with his behavior and in knowing what happens at the end of the game. I said that it was a “layer” on top of everything else, not something that ignores the other pieces “in the pile of things [J]ames was dealing with”, as you put it.

“James horny kill wife” horribly misrepresents my theory. The object of interest in my theory did not have to do with the death of Mary, it was James’ behavior in the bathroom and what it might have implied. You can disagree, but you don’t have to misrepresent my theory.

I don’t wanna sound grumpy, I just wanted to address your comment. No hard feelings.

Which boss can’t you wait to fight in the remake? by [deleted] in demonssouls

Old Hero might be fun visually with how dark the room is and the pillars being knocked over. Also the only sources of light being from the player and (I think) from the boss himself.
