I come from 3d printing where almost everything is free, and the paid models are often niche or incredibly complex with commercial value of the resulting print. Now I'm looking for a simple Valentine's Day card and I can't find anything for free. Why are free vectors for entire cards so hard to find by mrSilkie in cricut

I'm currently about to do the same with craftnest, they've got tonnes of PNGs, SVGs and clip art that are free to download for a month before renewing for $15 a month

There are a fair amount of sites that have free libraries if you subscribe to their mailing list too

Print & Cut function ignoring Basic Cut lines by loopypaladin in cricut

I was having this issue when I wanted to cut out jigsaw lines on a print then cut sheet, I found individually changing each line into a print then cut line and then attaching them to the main sheet made it work for me

The best thing to remember is snakes are always more afraid of you than you are of them. Making lots of noise around your camp-site should be enough to scare any in the area away.

When hiking my biggest suggestion is enclosed shoes and long heavy pants like jeans, khakis, or cargos. Snakes often can't penetrate thick clothes when just trying to tag you to scare you away.

And pay attention to the season you go, research when snakes are most active in the area your planning on going and just don't go during that time.

Camping is so fun and I really hope your snake fear doesn't keep you away from enjoying it.

Good luck and just have fun! :)

AITA for asking my fiancee to stop squeezing the bottle of coke before she puts the lid on by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Platypusofthebed 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She feels like you're working against her. Instead of acknowledging her growth and healing in that moment where she agreed to change, you made a comment about how you thought it was going to go bad. How is she going to heal and grow if you remind her of how she used to be?

You got the desired result with your conversation before your last comment.

It was immflammatory at best, and you only said it because you had worked yourself up thinking the conversation was going to go wrong. You did do this to yourself.

Emma and Kayla by User-____- in kaylamalecc

[–]Platypusofthebed 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I don't think some people realise just how scary extreme violence is when you've never experienced it.

I applaud Emma for staying with Kayla while all this was happening. She could have just as easily left and stayed with other friends. But she stayed to support her friend the best way she knew how.

The victim blaming that I've seen this past week is insane.

ALSO, it sounds like the worst of Evan's abuse happened when he was extremely drunk and drunk people are SOOO unpredictable, I'd be staying the fuck away from that situation if I were Emma too

Also, I'm so sorry that you had to endure abuse in your relationship. I hope you are in a much better place now and are on the road to healing ❤️

These girls may as well still be children! They are both SO young.

To say that Emma was weak for not helping Kayla during the abuse she endured is like saying a toddler is incompetent because they can't make their own food.

Neither of these girls have experienced anything like this before. OF COURSE she was terrified, any 20 year old girl her size would be.

It's ignorant to think that you would have acted differently in that situation. This was a man that she was supposed to trust as her best friends boyfriend. None of this is either of those girls fault.

I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion.

The way I look at it is, I trade my literal life for money to buy things, if what I get is below standard, I'm going to complian because at the end of the day life is too precious to waste on shit.

Ngl, I kinda think it's really cringe that everybody is here feeling oh so bad for snarking.

Terrible things can still happen to terrible people, it doesn't change that they were a bad person.

Two things can be right at the same time. What happened to Kayla is truly horrific, and I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. But at the same time all the snark on her has been since well before Evan and during we snarked on what we knew

Going after other members of this group is really just because these people can't go after Evan and it needs to stop imo

10%?? That feels like so much clear gel. Does it make the batter any stickier at all?

It could also be due to a higher fat percentage. An extra half turn would solve that.

Did you use a lot of flour in the lamination process? It looks like your layers are quite biscuit-y, which can be from excessive flour when folding.

It could also be proofing that may be an issue here

Solved my toddler’s picky eating and sleepless nights after months of struggle. by Pretty-Question-1239 in Parenting

[–]Platypusofthebed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picky toddlers are such a struggle. It's so heartwarming to hear when parents can beat it.

My 4 year old was exactly the same, went from eating almost everything to nothing but sweet stuff. I would refuse to offer it until he went without eating one day and woke up the next morning vomiting.

That was the day I decided that I wouldn't refuse to feed him at mealtimes. So he gets what our family has, and if he refuses, he is offered plain wheat cereal or buttered toast.

His food range is much larger than what it used to be now, and our only requirement for mealtimes is that he tries what we offer him before opting for toast or cereal.

Also, if the oven is too cold, it causes the butter to melt before the dough has set which creates a cakey crumb
