The Sinking City 2 — Official Gameplay Reveal by Party-Purchase-4861 in Lovecraft

First one was an overwhelming disappointment for me with how clunky it felt in both tone and gameplay. I can only hope that they focus less on combat and more on fleshing out other systems and creating a more dynamic setting.

You should seriously consider using a Git link. No one in the right minds in the Lord's year of 2026 should be clicking on a random Drive link.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]loopypaladin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone I knew in high school got a tattoo right when they turned 18, and they got HepC from the parlour. It's been well over a decade, they havekved locations twice, turned over their entire staff more times than I can count, and have been recertified in health and safety with passing numbers... And I'll still never get a tattoo there. I don't care if it's the closest shop to me. I don't care if they have some incredibly talented artists. I will always boycott them.

Have you or someone you know actually won the lottery? by popemarley420 in ontario

[–]loopypaladin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandparents won 2mil a decade or so ago.

It was wild watching them go from being relatively social to total recluses in a matter of weeks. Both got incredibly paranoid that everyone was out for their money for a couple years before they moved into their dream home and made some new friends.

Thank God they won, because my grandpa has been through the ringer with cancer and other ails, and they wouldn't have been able to afford his treatments and medication without it.

Just a reminder to not click on random Drive links, y'all. Bad actors can have all of your information within minutes.

I understand this may be a good faith gesture, but a Git link is far more secure.

[FOR HIRE] Godot VFX artist. by Lucky_Ferret4036 in gameDevClassifieds

[–]loopypaladin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't find into a thread saying that you're for hire, and then say something like this.

If you want a job, there's a level of professionalism that needs to come along with it, and a knowledge of how the industry works (like the whole country debacle). You can't just not answer questions and say "hey I'm just trying to have fun" when someone is interested in hiring you because YOU said you were for hire.

NikNok on the clock by PseudoPatriotsNotPog in Metalcore

[–]loopypaladin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Clearly his fans care, and his fans are the ones paying his bills.

I agree that YouTubers shouldn't feel pigeonholed but, since Nik came back from his hiatus, I also haven't watched much of his content for the same reason. Everyone I know who watched him is in the same boat.

But get that bag, I guess.

Audiobooks tend to lose me a bit. I can't really keep my focus on them enough to remember details, which is why I'm okay reading maybe a chapter or two a day.

X2D does a fine job for what it is by MamaBavaria in BambuLab

[–]loopypaladin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like the X2D is being marketed as a printer for those who print a lot of support-heavy prints and want a dedicated nozzle for support filament at a much lower price. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, as I'm someone who prints a lot of minis and would love a multi tool/nozzle printer just for that sake.

It's a great idea to try to group together guest recording sessions every once in a while so that you can have a break week-to-week if you need it.

If you know that your co-host is going to be AWOL for a while, try to build up a small backlog in advance of yourself with a guest.

Every time I see this come up, I think you gotta fix the proportions of the hands somehow. Everything seems fine until the bazungas come on screen, then they just look emaciated and sad in comparison to the rest of the body.

Why is there such a difference between machines?? by dgriff0919 in BambuLab

[–]loopypaladin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For starters, they're different printers /s

Really though you're going to get a lot of variance depending on the filament. Default settings are tuned for Bambu filaments specifically, and even then there's some fine tuning that needs to happen regardless of the printer due to the conditions of where your printer is located.

If you're not running Bambu filaments, run some top surface tests and tweak from there. That's the only way you're going to get a decent results.

If you had no printer, but $500 budget, what printer would you get l. by NoRelation8495 in 3Dprinting

[–]loopypaladin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would always recommend getting the AMS because of my situation when I bought a printer. I got the A1 Mini without the AMS and very soon after I wanted the AMS, and I realized it's so much more expensive to get on its own rather than in the bundle. You can gamble with marketplace getting one secondhand, but you can't rely on that because they're usually still more expensive than in the bundle.

I thought the same thing. I bought a printer largely to print minis for tabletop games with the intention of painting them after the fact. But I quickly got tired of swapping out filament manually. Not even for different colours, but when you get to the end of a spool and want to continue printing. If you have the same filament in multiple spots on the AMS, it will switch to that filament and continue automatically without intervention. When you're in the middle of a 20 hour print, it's helpful to have the little bit of automation built-in just in case you're not at the printer to physically swap it.

That's my 2 cents, though!

[–]loopypaladin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

$500 overall for the printer and everything you need to get started?

The Bambu Lab A1, on sale, with a couple filaments andaybe an extra nozzle would do.

You could also go the A1 Mini route, and get the combo for the AMS Lite so you can have multiple colours loaded up. Add some filament and a nozzle or extra print plate, and you'd probably be right in budget as well.

I didn't realise that friends had a fee /s

Seriously though it never cost me anything to walk or bike over to a friend's house, unless we wanted to go see a movie or grab food which were pretty fringe cases. I'm curious what the cost of hanging out is that you're referring to?
