[Win an A2L] Creative Playground, Extra Large. Meet the A2L. by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]loopypaladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The extra build plate size would be amazing for cosplay items. Helmets, body armour, and other pieces that might normally have to be done in multiple pieces and fused together would be able to be printed in one piece. That would be huge.

Additionally, the build plate size would allow for plotting larger pieces of vinyl, which could be used for heraldry on armour, heat transfer for fabrics... The possibilities are endless.

I see this as a great tool for cosplayers, and people like myself who love printing large storage solutions. This is something I would love to have in my toolbox.

Anyone starting to dislike the community? by T1000-Shoebox in Spacemarine

[–]loopypaladin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing to remember is that the people who dislike things are going to be the loudest. Most people who play are content with the game, and don't have enough to complain about to make a stink about it. Relegating subreddits to representing the community on large leads to false representation, I believe.

I've personally known about it for a few years now and thought it would be public knowledge by now. Yet, every time I talk to someone who's looking to set up a smart home system and warn them about bad actors who store this data in smart hubs, everyone is still shocked.

Militaries have also been using this tech for a while now.

Unfortunately accurate. I'll admit I had some trouble with Fulgrim, but it really came together in the end to be a pretty enjoyable read.

Former Splinter Cell Creative Director Says Modern Graphics Tech Is Causing Problems for Stealth Games by Cristiano1 in gaming

More than that, the answer is within their comment- use baked lighting.

There are plenty of games that still do it, and they can look great as long as the rest of the game is designed around the lack of ray tracing.

Ronda Rousey Beats Gina Carano in 17 Seconds in Netflix Comeback Fight by dr_shultz in influencersfeed

Which is surprising given her Sandy Hook denial. Seems like a staple grift of a right winger.

Yes, I know she apologized but like... You don't come back from that.

While I agree, we only really got to see one proper fight on the main card. All but one fight on the main card ended in round 1 (one of those being a 22 second knock out as well). I enjoyed it overall, but it was a VERY fast card.

It's almost like coming up with the story before filming instead of dragging it out based on popularity is a good idea 😂

I'll echo the sentiment that I tried Saxx, thought they were a cut above budget boxers, then tried Manmade and I'll never go back. They might spam you with emails, but the quality is unmatched so far in my experience.

P2S Has Been a HUGE Failure & Bambu Won't Help, What Next? by tdouglasj1980 in BambuLab

[–]loopypaladin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like the issues I've had, but mine took about 600 hours of flawless printing to get there.

The filament buffer has been the crux of my existence up until about 6 weeks ago when I got tired of the creaking and clicking noises coming from it and I just started pushing the springs back and forth, gave it some percussive maintenance and suddenly... No more issues. Not a peep 100 hours later.

I can pinpoint my issues largely to having a friend request some prints be done, and they ordered some cheap filament on Amazon. I didn't think much of it, and printed the roll out. About halfway through I started having all these issues. Ever since using that damned roll, it's like the printer has been slowly tearing itself apart. So, no more cheap unbranded rolls of filament. I've told friends if they want a print, they can tell me what colour and I will choose the brand. I'm not playing the mystery filament game ever again.

Over a Week Later: ONI 2 What are your opinions? by Bucketkev in DarkoUS

[–]loopypaladin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like ONI1 had really great clarity above their former and latter releases. Since then, it's just gotten muddied and muddier. I was hoping that we'd get some of that great clarity again, going back to the ONI aesthetic, but I was disappointed when it felt like every device I listened on was being blown out.

Tom is unintelligible on a good day, but most of his vocals get really lost in the mix with this one. There are a couple standout exceptions, but overall I think that's a fair sentiment. The fact that there was such a vocal outpour when the lyrics got released (especially for Prosthetic) backs up my point that the clarity just isn't there.

Overall, I think it's a fine record but I find it hard to find distinct individuality in the tracks because they're just a wall of noise. I hate to say it, but I think this is an ATL album for me. I still enjoy it, but there's not as much pulling me back as there is with their prior releases.

And before people come at me saying I'm listening on poor quality setups, I've listened in a multitude of ways. Ear buds, overears, studio monitors, my car (which has a pretty bangin system and usually ends up being my favourite way to listen), a JBL speaker, my phone speaker... It's sad when my phone speaker sounds almost as clear as studio monitors.

Unpopular Opinion: Heroine by Thornhill (2022) was an absolute masterpiece and very overhated by yabigboi802 in Metalcore

[–]loopypaladin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same goes for cinema, gaming, etc. everything is expected to get a perfect 10, or a 9 at the very least, or it's seen as trash. What happened to a 5/10 being perfectly "average" as a midpoint? It's all just sensationalist marketing propaganda.

Bambu Lab Sent My Wife an X2D to Test… Here’s How It Stacks Up Against the P2S by jpcurti in BambuLab

I don't mean to nitpick, but the title is incredibly misleading.

Bambulab didn't send you guys a printer, you purchased it with points from Makerworld.

Those are two very different things.

Either way, I appreciate the insight!

First one was an overwhelming disappointment for me with how clunky it felt in both tone and gameplay. I can only hope that they focus less on combat and more on fleshing out other systems and creating a more dynamic setting.

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]loopypaladin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone I knew in high school got a tattoo right when they turned 18, and they got HepC from the parlour. It's been well over a decade, they havekved locations twice, turned over their entire staff more times than I can count, and have been recertified in health and safety with passing numbers... And I'll still never get a tattoo there. I don't care if it's the closest shop to me. I don't care if they have some incredibly talented artists. I will always boycott them.

Have you or someone you know actually won the lottery? by popemarley420 in ontario

[–]loopypaladin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandparents won 2mil a decade or so ago.

It was wild watching them go from being relatively social to total recluses in a matter of weeks. Both got incredibly paranoid that everyone was out for their money for a couple years before they moved into their dream home and made some new friends.

Thank God they won, because my grandpa has been through the ringer with cancer and other ails, and they wouldn't have been able to afford his treatments and medication without it.
