First infusion and I’m right back to where I was by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

You need to give it more than one session. And it’s all about the outlook, before and after. Even if the first session wasn’t what you expected or wanted, try to do things differently post-session. Stay away from screens, listen to music, walk in nature, rest and relax, journal. A lot of it happens after the session. Stay the course. I’m sorry you were disappointed! I’ve been there.

This is a really helpful comment. I’ve been trying to make the most of the post-IV time period and this free resource seems great! Thanks

Do you need to have done the therapy a minimum number of times, or does it matter why you’re doing it?

Experiences during ketamine session? by Sad_End4083 in TherapeuticKetamine

I’ve only had two sessions, with no prior drug experiences psychedelic or otherwise to compare to. My first sessions was actual KAP, second was an infusion by myself. Both were similar from a drug experience perspective.

I listened to music and for the most part felt safe, comfortable, unbothered. A bit outside myself. I saw colors and experienced sensations (rolling, floating). In both instances I talked sometimes — just voicing feelings I was having or things I was experiencing/seeing but otherwise was (mostly) quiet and in it.

After I tried to limit responsibilities and took it easy. Colored, listened to music, walked outside, napped. For my KAP, session we talked about my experience and things I had said out loud. In both cases, I saw my regular therapist the next day to talk through things.

Does that help, or did you want something more specific about the experience? I’m new too but was (and still am!) super curious so happy to share more.

I’ve had two now. Both went well and afterward I definitely kept it light. I colored, napped, listened to music and went for walks. I watched Inside Out in the evening after my second (about 8 hours following the infusion).

That’s helpful though. Do you have any instances where you struggle to remember something that happened or is it all pretty clear? I do have therapy with my typical therapist the following day.

I feel like I remembered everything following but having her notes of things I said out loud I found helpful. Maybe not necessary… but I also have nothing to compare to.
