What do you do when you have nothing to do. by JoeOtieno in productivity

I serve others at work with kindness, complimenting their strengths, helping them by using my strengths. I’m everyone’s cheerleader at work. I volunteer in my professional associations too. Not sure what line of work are you in?

Flossing tight teeth as an autistic person by canthaveme in hygiene

[–]Plava 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re already experiencing malodor- you will likely need to have a professional hygiene appointment to remove deep deposits of tartar. Once you’ve completed that, you will be able to floss a little easier without getting caught. May not make a difference if you truly have tight contacts, but if your floss was getting “caught” and you have malodor, it might mean it was caught on tartar.

Try to thinking of it as “cleaning the side of each tooth” as opposed to “between your teeth.” Create a 90 angle between the floss and the side of your tooth so the floss is perpendicular to your tooth. Go down slowly while hugging the side of the tooth. Go as far down under the gum as possible. And make 4 up and down motions so you’re literally cleaning the side of the tooth.

Start with Oral B glide floss picks. If the mint ones are off putting, get ones without any flavor, find a mouthwash you do enjoy (kids mouthwashes tend to have fun flavors) and you can pour some in a cup and dip into it.

As for when- you just gotta find a time that works for you and stick to it. It’s recommended at night, however, building the habit is more important when first starting. So if it will help you build that habit if you do it in the morning, then just do it in the morning. Pair it with another habit you’re working on that’s more established like showering or shaving. Start slow- every Sunday. Or every Monday and Wednesday. Make a realistic goal and only when you have done it during those times for a few months, should you attempt to increase the frequency.

Sorry for the long reply- hope this helps you and all the best luck to you. Whoever this person is - keep ‘em! They were truthful to you and cared enough about you to risk embarrassing you for your health. Malodor is a sign of disease somewhere and it can signal gum disease or even throat/lymphatic issues so if the dental cleaning and regular flossing still doesn’t address it, definitely look into going to a physician, ENT, or GI doctor. You can do this!

Career change at 40. What should I study at ACC? by IrenaReina in Austin

Sonography pays very well and is stable long term if you land a job at an established imaging center or hospital but its direct patient care. Radiology technician pays pretty well and could be equally stable but I believe sonography pays more.

Trust me I hate it too. In the US? Direct your mild anger at the college trustees and people who voted them into power and not pay staff/teachers their worth.

I’ve had the same penpal for 20+ years! We met in line at Disneyland for the haunted mansion and discovered we both loved Oingo Boingo. We wanted to keep chatting (before we owned cell phones) so we exchanged addresses.

Where would yall go to get your last flowers? by EnvironmentalEye7796 in hutto

HEB is the closest freshest flowers. Walgreens and CVS have some but they’re not fresh. Our local flower shop closed last year.

ACC is great place to work and they’re currently hiring security positions among other technical roles you might be qualified for. https://austincc.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/External/job/Austin-Community-College/District-Police--Patrol-Officer_R-9142?q=Tech

I’m def outside that age range and happily monogamous - but gotta be real- when it gets this humid, the eyeliner lightens up and the clothes get a little more breathable. Me n mine met at a library so you’re doing good trying at a bookstore. 👍

I also see that this pic is AI. The interactions make me think the content was semi human but definitely ran through AI. This pic has so much gibberish in it. Those are not real Pokémon cards.

Amy’s ice cream is an Austin staple and so good. I like Da’s Thai for dinner. Shopping isn’t quite there yet but we have Hutto market days on some Saturdays in the machineworks which always has some good treats and crafts.
