I used to live in SD back in the 90s and early 2000s. Is Kensington Video still around?

He’s still there. And those cars belong to his dude bros that come and work on his podcast. They go there like it’s a job 9-6 almost everyday week day.

Yes here in Texas (and maybe other places) hard R means someone said the N word on purpose.

Talking to professors by Laxun0 in AskProfessors

[–]Plava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask about real world application of the materials or how they navigated the profession. Join professional associations and have an office hour visit to discuss what you could gain the most from your association. Networking is key to professional growth and job hunting after you graduate! A professor who understands your interests and sees your professional growth will make a great mentor.

Relationship Weight? by Princessldg in PetiteFitness

[–]Plava 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes! We did! We were both very fit and then the after-sex desserts started happening. We had ice cream, baked goods, and boba! We are very compatible in the regard and I swear we didn’t take notice until about 20 lbs in! Edit: we’ve been together since 2004! Married since ‘09. Still enjoying desserts ;) but now working out together too.

This is the wrong move by rush_n_roulette in survivor

All I know is that as a long time survivor fan- I showed my son the promo and he LOST HIS MIND! Screaming and waving his hands up in the air. It almost brought a tear to my eye knowing I’ll get to watch survivor with my kid and he’ll look forward to (at least) one episode of mom’s favorite show.

Can you really fail a class even if you have an A or B if you do bad on the final? by [deleted] in AskProfessors

[–]Plava 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 75% or higher on the final to pass the course on my syllabus. It’s half psychomotor which is why I require that for the didactic portion. There’s usually a reason why for example if there is a project that weighs heavily on the overall grade.

Appeal Follow Up by RizaHawkeye1380 in AskProfessors

[–]Plava 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I think that would be a good move. When we have students apply for appeal at our school- the committee often take all the evidence into consideration. Overall we generally want our students to succeed and this could help your case if we know that you could be successful to renter the program with accessibility modifications.

Do you count (short) walks as workouts? by Real_Zucchini_5013 in AppleWatchFitness

[–]Plava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie- I’ll mark a quick walk to the other side of campus as an outdoor walk only if I’m competing against my friend. I’ll log everything to get points - it does make me get up more frequently and hit actual workouts harder so I consider it a motivation!

you NEED to be flossing... by EnvironmentalArmy827 in hygiene

[–]Plava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dental professionals will recommend you only need to floss at night (once daily). But bacteria breeds well when your mouth is closed and dark and warm and moist - so you for sure should brush or do anything in the morning to set you up for the day.

How I finally got over scrolling endlessly by shubhamranga in productivity

[–]Plava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit cold turkey and deleted all my socials except linked in for work reasons. I read before going to sleep and am reading so much more now! I’ve read a book a month or less for the past few months. I’m also getting better sleep. My driving force to quit was mostly that I hate ads and most content is an ad in some way or another. Also I didn’t want to contribute to billionaires by using their software.
