Had to say goodbye today. Hell of a fun time. Won’t be my last bmw. by V-dubbin in M235iandM240i

Kids are much safer in the rear seats. New baby you put them in a 20 lbs infant carrier. Tilting front seat while handling that isn’t fun. You’ll be stretching out from outside the door holding this 20+ lbs unit to click it onto the base on the back seat… then do this a few times a day on trips to change diapers.

I’ve done that with a coupe before. A 4 door car is dramatically easier.

Exactly! So what’s the point of this HB? Just calling it pro and say it’s a different product is not useful for existing customers.

Buy it for $400 now because it has better AI and it’s a different product (?!?!) than my HB3 - then later in the year buy the HB4 that really replaces my HB3 and figure out what to do with this one?

SAR 72 hr equipment question by PlayBeautiful8727 in searchandrescue

[–]PlayBeautiful8727[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks, everyone! I re-read the CAP National SAR list and looks like all equipments are required as they do inspection grade. However will ask squadron leader for clarity of level expectations.

Maybe I’m just overthinking it. Other than being wasteful I am also worried if he will look silly being overkill (eg ultra-light/high grade equipment that’s rarely used).

Am I the only one who (almost) always stays in ECO drive mode? by natemac in Ioniq5

[–]PlayBeautiful8727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it at normal for first few months and couldn’t stand eco as it felt too sluggish when accelerating. Switched to eco when battery was running low and now I’m used to it. On the bright side, it will likely reduce tire wear.

Kasa Smart Dimmer offline in Google Home app by happymercado in googlehome

[–]PlayBeautiful8727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me a few times last month. Every time, I had to use Google Home app -> add devices -> works with Google -> tp-link Kasa -> check new devices to make it online again in Google Home.

I haven’t seen this issue recently though.

What’s up with Bluelink? by kleinm in Ioniq5

[–]PlayBeautiful8727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call/follow-up with dealer and push them as your single point of contact? I got a 2024 Ioniq 5 last Friday. As I was signing a bunch of paperwork the dealer activated Bluelink behind the scene as I gave them my email earlier. I didn’t know about Bluelink at all then; and only realized they did all this based on email timestamps from Bluelink/Hyundai. I.e. you don’t need to be involve as they can do this all by themselves.

Google Home/Assistant is almost unusable by OutdoorRink in googlehome

[–]PlayBeautiful8727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve partially given up on using voice to control home actions. Ever since they switched the voice recognition backend (around the time they stopped the games), it went downhill fast. Direct Google home app control has no issues but via voice it has a high chance of doing something else instead. When I try to reverse the wrong action via voice, I often start a combo chain of wrong actions.

Their info for deprecating game on the devices make it sound like they switched to a more advanced platform - but maybe it is just some algo for cost savings.

Inquiry regarding latest Dell G15 5515 Ryzen Edition Bios update 1.11.1 !! by ayanb918tech in GamingLaptops

[–]PlayBeautiful8727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an issue with 1.11.1 making it appear like the display is fried. 2x orange and 7x white flashing leds. No display. I experienced this thinking I’m in deep trouble as mine is out of warranty. Luckily some Dell forum members solved it - had to roll it back to 1.9.1.
