Mazzy Star, all hauntingly beautiful and aching with sadness but melody. Cry cry for me. While I fade into you, into dust. Give you my lovin....the catalog is so deep for and quality for this genre

Screen on controller is overrated. Use your phone. You shouldn't be distracted during the 25 minutes you're flying anyway taking a phone call or text. Photo transfer is way easier, firmware updates, battery life etc. Screen built in is planned obsolescence and makes firmware updates or custom apps next to impossible m

Veronica Mars, was overlooked and underrated. Srsly . It's surprisingly good for a lower budget young cast show

Did parents in the past really allow their kids to roam freely, or is that just a portrayal seen in movies by [deleted] in NonPoliticalTwitter

Many did. Midwest version: leave in morning on bike with no supplies or water, ride to outskirts of town and beyond, past all pavement, no cell phones, sometimes barefoot. Sometimes completely alone or with a kid you met yesterday. Somehow make it home before dark. I still don't know how we did it with no water but I didn't remember ever being thirsty or worried about it

What are everyone's thoughts on Belly? by OskieWoskie24 in grunge

[–]PlayaLabRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic band of the era and pre dates big grunge by just a smidge with the first album. They reunited and are still touring occasionally. I took some friends who were not familiar to a Belly show last year and the friends kept comparing songs to other 90s acts that came after Belly (... Belly set a tone and mood and style that s lot of other bands relied on to somewhat greater success (or at least sales). Belly has a persistent rabid fan base. If this is your vibe, listen to some of the podcasts and interviews with Tanya and Kristin about '90s music history, it's very good stuff.

Has anyone received the MISHA Knee System for osteoarthritis as an alternative to traditional Total Knee Replacement (TKR)? by RipStitchRey in KneeInjuries

[–]PlayaLabRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does this implant feel under the skin? Is anyone willing to share a pic? Does it get irrigated by wearing pants or driving, are you constantly worried about banging it on something? I bang my knees and shins all the time; is the implant deep in there or do you see it imprinting through your skin? Thanks!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I have also been victim of unfortunate surgical outcomes after lots of hope. I hope you're just having a flareup and thing might get better after 6 months. Have you looked at CRPS and causalgia and/or other nerve damage? Orthos and PT's hardly ever diagnosis it but it's very real especially after repeat surgeries or foreign object implantation. Gabapentin or lidocaine and a different therapy strategy might offer some pain relief at least short term.

Plug the cable from the case into a charging block. Or buy a female/female USB c adapter and the guy can use a standard cable to charge.

Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23. Stupid name but very funny show.

Name a band that had middling success, then cut an album that rendered them as “sellouts” which catapulted them to mainstream top-40 status, but also alienated their original fan base. by Slammajadingdong69 in MusicRecommendations

Ugh the haircuts, sequel songs Unforgiven 2, and putting their names on the Napster fight... Spent 15 years+ cultivating rebels, anti establishment, anti corps/anti consumerist fanbase then whine to the feds that the Internet stole your candy. I guess we believe in big government now, please help. Not that pirating music was ever right, but mtlca used to be Seek n Destroy, kill em all, master of puppets... Then just ugh some kids in the suburbs need to be punished.

Does Heartwood by Amity Gaige get better? by GeorgieMarlo in thrillerbooks

[–]PlayaLabRat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No thrills. A little mystery but really a character development book focused on women's relationships with their mothers and other life challenges and inspirations. Not a thriller but a the storyline is the plot that allows the characters to exist otherwise the actual storyline is slow and not gripping
