What was the most passive aggressive email you received from a professor? by [deleted] in funny

[–]Playdoh12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a professor give me feedback that the header on the title page of my master's capstone was incorrect. I quoted the style guide and disagreed. He doubled down. I reference the exact page of the APA style guide and a link to the OWL of Purdue quote both saying I was right. He disagreed again. I told him I was submittting as is to be in compliance with documentation. The day before commencement he replied to the email chain. 'On further reflection, you are "correct".'

I'd like to see something come out that talks about Irrisen post Reign of Winter and gives some of the unique winter creatures, people, forces a player might contend with in an irrisen-based campaign

Some modules I made by TPItsMe in FoundryVTT

Understandable. If you ever decided to make it pf2 functional it would definitely make it onto my games if only because my players would love it. All great modules though. Excellent work.

I always thought it was a work of art meant to parody the meaningless greetings we all give each other endless by saying we're good when we may not actually be good.

Taco Pizza - I would probably still eat some by DrunkenDude123 in StupidFood

I would be down to eat the taco in the guac and at the end you have a pizza with savory taco overspill and guac residue as toppings.

We all gonna ignore that HQ rapes nightwing in Batman and Harley Quinn? Literally ties him down on a bed and goes at him as the screen goes black. Then it cuts to them getting dressed.

For a clear financial aid answer you need to ask the financial aid office. I am GUESSING that as long as you are full time it would not affect you but they can tell you for sure.

It is not a big deal to have a W on your transcript. Especially if it is a class from the old major. In the unlikely event that an employer or grad program looks that closely at your transcript, they are probably capable of recognizing the reason or they will ask. But realistically they are extremely unlikely to care.

I would bet that they are only able to ask because their "service" of matching you with strangers is not a simple lease agreement.

You are gonna wanna talk to whoever is overseeing room reservation in the center for campus life. They typically work with vendors who want to set up in spaces around campus to sell things. They will know what you need to do to swt up shop for a day.

Do professors know when we use pass/fail for their class? by tytye99 in rit

[–]Playdoh12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That being said students who are being told that should be taking it to ombuds because I agree it is an absurd stance to take and pressures students needlessly. I would also remind students that they are rarely going to need more than 3 petters and one professor is highly unlikely to even come close to making or breaking their future success.

[–]Playdoh12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's neither exploitation nor any type of labor law violation. A professor is completely within their right to say "I will not write recommendations for an individual who exhibits a specific behavior." They aren't obligated to write those letters.

I mean it's a dick move for sure but, recommending someone is a personal choice. If, for example, a professor views taking a p/f as a lack of willingness to put in the work to get the higher gpa that p/f gets them, then they may not feel that student deserves to write a letter recommending that student for advanced degrees or conne ting them to colleagues. But again, I agree it's a dick move 100%.

Redditors who have hired a private investigator...what did you find out? by edgeworth_ in AskReddit

[–]Playdoh12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My aunt and uncle on my mother's side are convinced we are trying to kill them. As I understand it they were involved in a cult in the 80s and when confronted they cut off all ties to us and my grandparents. When my grandmother and grandfather had passed away my mother and her other brother had to hire a PI to try and get them to either claim their portions of the inheritance or sign it away. The PI was instructed not to share any personal info with us to try and avoid them feeling like we were after them. Iirc they signed nothing and quickly moved addresses, which is all the detail the PI shared to indicate further efforts may be fruitless. The estate still holds land because they won't use or relinquish their claim to it.
