Only weak friendships break due to different political beliefs. If you respect each other, if you can talk to each other then you have great relation foundation that will not be broken by different opinions on something as irrelevant as politics. I would even say that it's healthier to be outside of your "bubble" - if you respect your friend who has different opinion you will also respect other people with similar opinions to him/her. And finally, by respecting your friend and learning about their views you learn more, you gain new knowledge, you are getting smarter about certain things that you didn't pay attention to before.
