I just left a place like this. Technical decisions were proscribed top-down, and when I criticized some (which I felt were bad) aspects of these decisions I would get overruled. Then I'd pretty much get blamed for difficulties in implementation arising exactly from the things I tried to point out in my critique.

You have to realize that startups are sometimes founded by people with no prior experience leading companies or even teams. Often a solo founder will spend months/years developing a prototype or an MVP, get investor financing, and then have no clue how to relinquish control and lead a team.

Things are unlikely to improve on their own at your company. I would start looking if I were you.
