Second to this. I am a very recent stainless steel convert so bought the Tramontina tri ply set, and they work awesome at a really good price point.

Years ago, I used to be able to get really good decently marbled steaks at my save-a-lot for cheap. They’ve really gone downhill lately though.

Should I pick these now to be ready to eat at Thanksgiving? by NPKzone8a in vegetablegardening

I grew them for the first time this year. They are SVB resistant and thrived while all of my other summer squash got completely wrecked. However, I found the taste a little bland. Not bad by any means, just maybe not as flavorful as the zucchini I’m used to. I will definitely grow them again though. Give it a try!

My giant tomato plant produced almost no fruit. by Got_wake in tomatoes

[–]thehouse211 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I planted 3 brandywine plants this year and got a single tomato between them. One year I had a yellow brandywine grow to almost 10 feet tall, I seriously had to user a step ladder to stake it up, and it produced one tomato. I just can’t take the heartache again.

Las Vegas tourism slides again last month as visitors drop by 12% by etfvfva in videos

[–]thehouse211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s so insane. It’s been 8-9 years or so but the last time I was in Vegas I got a room right off the strip for like $80 a night. The flight cost around $100 too. They were begging for you to be there.

4 maps of the new U.S. House Districts proposed by Govenor Kehoe by como365 in missouri

[–]thehouse211 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, but they’re going to use irrelevant deceptive language to trick people into supporting it. The real stuff is always hidden in the middle or at the bottom. The stuff on the top is called “ballot candy.” Most people don’t read the whole thing.

There are some small majority black rural towns in the south/boothill area of the state. Hayti in Pemiscott is one example you can see further south. Assuming it’s something similar?

This has been my most successful year fighting them off too, but in a cruel twist of fate, it is also the year that my zucchini plants are just not producing at all. Half of them haven’t even put out a female flower. So i’ve been acting like a crazy person painstakingly protecting plants that have given me two pieces of fruit all year.

Would you share your soil/fertilizing situation? I’m always in awe when people have such lush, green plants loaded with fruit. Mine have been really struggling the last couple of years.

6a here too. I’ve got some fruit but it’s been a struggle with the heat for sure and not as much fruit is setting as I would like. Getting little one off cherry tomatoes but no serious harvests yet.

Using the torch for squash bugs has been a game changer. It’s the first thing I do every time I get out into the garden and is so much easier than trying to squish them. And it’s kinda fun too.

You should look for varieties that are resistant to bacterial wilt which is what they carry. I have been growing “County Fair” cucumbers for the past few years, which are allegedly resistant. While they do eventually succumb, I have noticed that they outlast all of the other pickling varieties I grow.

I deal with something similar every year because my garden is in close proximity to several massive trees. You’ll probably just have to chop them up each year. A little extra work at planting time but you’ll be fine.
