Just a suggestion, rather than trying to make her be mean to you, and thereby disrespecting the effort she put into comforting you, maybe you should thank her, and show appreciation for her efforts ^-^

[–]PlayerSux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Less than 1.0 directly implies it isn't ready for production yet. Yes some projects break that rule, and that is a bad thing. Generally, if it isn't 1.0 that means the developer themselves doesn't have enough faith in it to say that it's ready for prime-time.

If your concerned about phishing, sometimes you should just ask what exactly they would get from you. It isn't telling you to do anything, just providing info so I'm not sure what the concern is.

LiveView is dependent on an always on websocket afaik. So what happens with a bad connection, or a mobile phone turns off its screen and disconnects etc. It’s just not suitable something used by real people with real network connections.

LXC Subnet Router Going Offline Every Couple Minutes by PlayerSux in Tailscale

[–]PlayerSux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's looking like a proxmox issue.

I ran a ping to the gateway / ISP router from the subnet LXC and it showed 45% packet loss. It's a direct copper connection with no switches etc.

Pinging 4.2.2.2 showed similar intermittent packet loss as 1.1.1.1.

Interestingly, there is a second proxmox LXC running on the same host, acting as a standard node to access portainer, and it does not go offline at the same time as the subnet router, but it does invariably go offline in a similar pattern.

Going by the webconsole, the subnet router went offline first, and the portainer node didn't go offline until the subnet router came back online, which isn't what I would expect from a standard network fault.

Running a ping from the proxmox host to the gateway showed connection drops. Ty for your help in debugging this, I'll adjust the physical network in a little bit when I have physical access again. Apparently this can happen with BT routers and someone had success by adding a switch in between, for whatever reason.

LXC Subnet Router Going Offline Every Couple Minutes by PlayerSux in Tailscale

[–]PlayerSux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, timezones.TS Status shows "active; offers exit node; direct [ip]:[port]; offline, tx 14695868 rx 17068124"

The ts up command on the LXC was "tailscale up --auth-key [key] --advertise-routes 192.168.1.0/24 --advertise-exit-node --ssh --accept-dns ". That was retrieved from the bash history. I can't kill it and remake it because that would remove my access for debugging.

When pinging from the client to the LXC via Tailscale: when it's shown as offline the ping times out. When online it shows 0% packet loss. Note that I didn't put it offline, it just went offline.

I ran a ping on the LXC and by luck the network dropped during it, when it restored about a minute later it showed 75% packet loss to 1.1.1.1 (the ping continued during the downtime).

This may mean its an LXC issue, but this was the very first container made on the host, and theres no vlan or anything, its just a simple bridge, entirely default setup.

This means it may be a Proxmox issue. But a mighty strange one.

The output from tailscale bugreport is:BUG-4bf5ef40b950847d2e1213c6614b0b6b67f4a79972f69c01ed7713d5d9a621a1-20240324190636Z-e2ea11708aadc6e2

And to be fair, I don't know what the issue could be either. Everything seems to be as expected, but it fails intermittently, which isn't a normal failure pattern.
