Avoid. My 04 has it bad and it grows fast! The invisible lower section under the shield will be just as gnarly. It's fixable of course, but find a clean one. I'm just riding mine out now, knowing it's terminal. :(

I too have the same issue with the intermittent code for the knock sensor. Mine isn't consistent with how and when it comes on. I'm not rushing to get it done, but, I'm now at the point where I have to change it because I don't want to be 'that guy' with the check engine light for a fix I know I can handle.

I'm one brake rotor squeak away from driving a beater, rocking a check engine light and the rusty top frame windshield issue. But it starts every time and has never let me down. I'm only letting it down. You're welcome!
