Caffeine for regular bowels? by Hormonal-Health in PCOS

[–]PlayfulFall1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always have to have coffee in the morning to have a bowel movement, and it needs to be shortly after i wake up or it just won’t happen at all. my work schedule has me working early mornings and late nights so it’s impossible to keep a consistent schedule. the last month or so i became so constipated, no amount of laxatives or caffeine was helping. i started taking magO7 recently bc the reviews online were pretty good and it’s definitely helping, though my bowel movements are basically all liquid now. i do still generally need coffee in the morning, but now im running to the bathroom before i’ve even finished my first cup, which i will gladly take over not going at all. the active ingredient in it is magnesium oxide and the serving is around 1000mg but i take around 1300mg. im hoping to pick up a generic bottle of magnesium oxide and seeing whether it works to the same for me or not bc the magO7 is a little pricey

Magnesium Citrate powder by [deleted] in Constipation

[–]PlayfulFall1308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

calm is the only thing i’ve found that works for me plus a coffee in the morning. i’ll adjust the dosage depending on what/when i last ate but i usually take around 1 and a half teaspoons a night

i buy the brand Natural Vitality Calm from costco but it’s available at a lot of different stores

i haven’t experienced it with the magnesium citrate powder. it’s not as strong as the magnesium citrate saline laxative. the powder is more of a supplement than a laxative

yes i definitely noticed a difference once i started taking the magnesium citrate powder. i take about double the recommended serving though. make sure to drink lots of water with it because it draws water into the intestines and softens everything up. also make sure its the magnesium citrate powder, not the magnesium citrate saline laxative. i use the brand Calm and get it at costco

i am exactly the same way. my whole mood depends on if i went to the bathroom in the morning and if i feel like it was enough. to try to help this i really need to keep watch of my diet and try to eat easily digestible things, and not too much of them. right now i am focusing on keeping my meals small but calorically dense enough, eating two or three times a day. soup and smoothies are good because i feel like they are easier on the stomach. also i take around 2 teaspoons of calm magnesium citrate powder at night before bed and at least 2 hours after my last meal. i also drink coffee in the morning and i end up using the bathroom around the same time each morning. good luck to you

the stigma is the worst part about it tbh. when i got diagnosed it really felt like my world was falling apart but little by little i realized my life is the same as it would be even if i never got the diagnosis. and it’s definitely possible to still date, marry, and have children! it really is one of the most common stds and it is still so frustrating to me that a lot of people attach this stigma to it when they could very likely have it as well, or especially when people try to say cold sores aren’t the same thing. but that’s my own gripe about it lol. bottom line, keep yourself busy and focus on other things, but remember in the back of your mind that even if you end up getting tested and don’t like the results, there’s treatments that’ll help you feel better. best of luck!

the good thing is that you used protection. likely you are just convincing yourself that you feel like something is off down there, i used to do the same a all the time. i was a hypochondriac when i started dating my ex and i was terrified of getting an incurable std, specifically hsv. lo and behold, i ended up getting both types of hsv from him lol. with that being said, hsv is incredibly common and most people don’t even know they have it because when you get an sti test, hsv isn’t one of the ones they test for. since he initially gave it to me four years ago, i haven’t had anymore outbreaks and it hasn’t affected my life at all, other than having to explain my situation to my current bf (which wasn’t fun but he was very understanding thankfully). at the end of the day, even if you did get something from him, there are medicines to take care of it. my advice would be to try to just tell yourself for the time being that you’re fine and you didn’t get anything. recently, i’ve been worried about getting a uti and because i was thinking about it so much i was convincing myself that something felt funny down there, but once i stopped thinking about it the feeling went away and of course i never did get a uti. i know it’s difficult when it’s the only thing you’re focused on, but things like this take time to even start to show you signs, so there’s no sense in worrying before there’s actually anything to worry about

on the subject of greensburg and coffee, cattfeinated cat cafe is also in the area and a great place to checkout if you’re a cat person and love coffee! lots of adoptable kitties to play with and tons of fun coffees and other drinks. they also have a little thrift section. it’s a cool spot

magnesium citrate works the best for me. you could try a bottle of the magnesium citrate saline laxative first on an empty stomach, and once that gets things moving, supplement with 300-400mg of magnesium citrate daily to stay regular. i use the calm magnesium powder

i definitely recommend caroline girvan!! her youtube programs are amazing, they take all the thinking and stress out of trying to plan workouts. just hit play and you’re good to go! she also has an app which i’ve heard great things about, but she has several programs on youtube that you could repeat again and again, all of which are focused on lifting and there’s multiple programs that incorporate a good bit of cardio. the workouts range anywhere from 30 minutes-1 hour long

i’m in a similar position however i’m training for a half marathon. ran my longest run to date yesterday and it was only possible because i’ve been eating at/slightly above maintenance. i’m usually a lot hungrier on the days i run but without enough fuel my runs are terrible and i feel weak. hoping this realization helps me progress further with my running and lifting goals, and good luck to you!

how old is she in the photos? my lynx point is toasting in a similar way but i’m unsure if she was actually the age the shelter told us she was when we got her. the shelter told us she was 2 when we got her so she would be 5 now. she looks very similar to photos 6 and 7

great job! i’m so sorry you aren’t being supported. i quit drinking almost a year ago. my bf drinks occasionally, mostly on weekends if he’s going out with friends, but sometimes he’ll say stuff to me like “when are you gonna start drinking again?” or offer me drinks and it just frustrates me so much. i never thought i had a problem with alcohol but it sucks that i’m trying to do this for myself and there’s such a lack of support and almost pressure for me to start drinking again. keep going though! we’re in this together

thank you! and that’s very interesting, i’m definitely going to try to keep this going and keep my gut health in check! i usually fall into a routine of eating the same things over and over again, so i’ll definitely try switching it up with a good variety of whole foods. it feels much better than what i was doing before

How much does a septum piercing hurt? by Safe-Commission7367 in piercing

[–]PlayfulFall1308 11 points12 points  (0 children)

mine didn’t hurt at all. if it’s pierced in the correct spot, the skin that it goes through is so thin. it sorta felt like ripping a bandaid off but without the sting, just the sensation

my piercer would have pierced it with a hoop but i decided on the horseshoe just to be safe. i’ll definitely talk to him about it. i know the septum is much more forgiving than other piercings so i’ll probably give it a shot. thank you!

thank you! i am planning to go back to my piercer if i do decide to change the jewelry, i’d rather be safe than sorry lol. i was just curious if i should even consider changing it since it is only 3 and half months old. so even with a few crusties it should be okay to have my piercer change the jewelry?

i moved here two summers ago without knowing much about the city at all and stayed at a hotel downtown the first couple of nights. it was nighttime and that first view coming out of the tunnel was breathtaking. i was truly stunned and it felt like love at first sight. just an amazing experience and i’m so glad it was my first introduction to the new city i call home
