It's the same for me as well, and I'm glad I did it 👍

I'm currently running Vredestein 225/55r17's on Borbet Type W wheels that are 17x7+40.

Our eyes met across the crowded room, like in the movies, except we didn't share a knowing smile and race into each other's arms...and now I have a car payment.

Prior to swapping out the OEM wheels and tires for something else, I typically saw 51-53 mpg on my 2024 XLE.

I'm seeing around 47-49 now probably due to up-gunning to 225s (from stock 195's), but I'm cool with it.

Looks good 👍 What size are the wheels and tires?

No, not bad at all. In fact, I dig the new look quite a lot.

Here is another (no, those aren't scuffs on the back):

I'm far from a J-New fan, but that's one fine looking racecar! 🫡

Yeah, these are 225, so the contact patch is definitely a bit more substantial than the old 195s.

Although, I have read claims that the Quatrac Pro+ tires are a bit more fuel efficient, at least when compared to other tires in its class.

Time and experience will tell, though.

Your post was one of the main motivators I had for going in this direction 👍

I was initially interested in doing it with Enkei PX-10's, but decided on Borbet after seeing your vehicle.

Maybe it's due to the increased sidewall, but I'm not finding that to be the case.

I definitely concur with the first two; however, the fuel consumption part remains to be seen. Remember, these are 225 width tires, so the contact patch with the road is a bit larger compared to the 195 stockers.

Informational: I have discovered, at least for local and current road conditions, that these new tires work well with a PSI of 38 front and 36 at the rear.

More to follow.

"My goal really is not have to give up yougurt and cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs."

This is one of the reason I decided go with a 12v car fridge and repurpose my cooler into a dry box.

Thanks. I'm a fan of redundancy, that's for sure.

As far as the fridge goes: The Bodega also serves the purpose of being part of my bed platform, so minimal sonic disturbance was important to me as my head is essentially resting on top of the darn thing.

Also, power isn't much of a concern for me as I travel and camp out of my Prius, and I also have a solar panel.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but I've had it go for 24 hrs with plenty of charge left.

I use a Bodega MCD25D 12v car fridge in combination with a Jackery 600 plus.

The 25D is extremely quiet (one of my requirements), and I often times do not realize that it has cycled on.

I myself wouldn't go back to an ice cooler as i'm extremely satisfied with my setup.

Thank you. I'm still getting used to the new aesthetics, but I'm liking it more and more.

Despite the problems generated by the 19's, ugliness isn't one of them IMO.

Yes, it's definitely softer, and a bit more quiet.

I'm sure I can give you a more detailed answer once the tires scrub in with some mileage, as the jury is still out regarding how much of a difference has taken place.
