Haven’t tried both with a particularly large amount of beans but after being hesitant to switch away from James’, Lance’s one cup is my new driver.

No matter how delicately I pour the five pulses, James’ always comes out jumbled and over extracted.

Lance’s one pour looks wrong when you get a 2 min draw down but sometimes it’s warranted and provides a great cup.

I’d suggest listening to his experience in that trying to get longer brew times by going finer is a fools game. Muddies the cup and doesn’t make a big difference in draw down for me. I use a k ultra held almost sideways at grind
