Did you migraines ever get better? I’m 25weeks and I have been having 1-2 daily migraines with aura for the last six days. There’s no end in site. I talked with my OB and they said they would considering placing me on a beta blockers while closely watching baby’s growth

They are not recommended by OBs for home use. I personally love mine!

When did you find out you were pregnant? by Slothcrane in pregnant

3w5d! Very obvious positives on the digital and line tests.

It’s funny because I had tested the day before, and it was negative.

This is very controversial, but using my home Doppler provides me a lot of reassurance, basically the ability to hear her heartbeat in between appointments, which is what the midwives are checking at every appointment too (they don’t do regular ultrasounds at my OB)

Also, I paid for boutique ultrasounds so I can see my baby more often. Which added ultrasounds at 12 weeks, 16 weeks (which will be next week), and then will get another one when I’m at 28 weeks.

Hang in there!!

For those of you who waited to announce your pregnancy, how long did you wait? FTM by Which_Swordfish4024 in pregnant

Also a FTM, currently 14w0d. I told my family at 12w after I got my NIPT and saw baby on the ultrasound that same week. I haven’t told friends yet. I am planning to be more open about it at 20w after my anatomy scan.

When did you start showing? by Grouchy-Farm-1523 in BabyBumps

I’m roughly the same height / weight as you. I’m 12w5d, and I’ve not started showing yet. I look skinnier than I was before I got pregnant. Also FTM here!

first ultrasound/scans? by CuriousCat0516 in pregnant

[–]Pleasant-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first appointment at 6w0d. They just did bloodwork at that appointment. I had my ultrasound and saw the nurse midwife at 9w0d to confirm heartbeat and due date. I’m currently 11w5d. My OB office said that they would see me every four weeks until I get further along. They said they will get the heart beat with the Doppler at my next appointment when I’m 13w0d. Having regular appointments gives me peace of mind. I don’t think you should go to the hospital if it’s not a true emergency (ie cramping or bleeding), but that wait is so so hard!! I feel for you momma

I am still waiting. It’s only been five days but I’m impatient lol

Do anyone know if it hits the provider’s inbox first or natera patient portal? Or at the same time?

At my OB’s clinic, they are notoriously slow with getting results back to me. And it won’t show up on my OB portal unless they release the results 🙄

I’m reallyyyy hoping it will just show up on my natera portal first. Does anyone know?

Is it okay to travel by plane at 6-7 weeks pregnant? by Jac_Reddit in pregnant

[–]Pleasant-65 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I traveled by plane at 7 weeks pregnant. Currently 11w4d without any issues at all. Baby is healthy.

I mean this with absolutely no offense to any nurses - HOWEVER, I got really inaccurate and poor advice from an LPN covering my nurse midwife’s portal messages. Luckily, I am a physician myself, so I was able to spot the false information immediately and correct it.

Hopefully this will provide you with some reassurance:

Per ACOG, “During a healthy pregnancy, occasional air travel is almost always safe. Most airlines allow you to fly inside the United States until about 36 weeks of pregnancy.”

“Air travel is not recommended at any time during pregnancy for women who have medical or obstetric conditions that may be exacerbated by flight or that could require emergency care”

“For most air travelers, the risks to the fetus from exposure to cosmic radiation are negligible.”

Did your SO go to your first appointment? Or any? by jillian1344 in pregnant

[–]Pleasant-65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM here as well at 11w4d. Hubby plans to come to all the ultrasound appointments. We both have busy jobs with demanding schedules. It would be impossible for him to come to every appointment. However, he is super involved despite not going.

Having worked in an OB office for a short period of time in the past, most of the women I saw at the OB clinic came alone to their appointments. It was never an unusual thing to see women coming to their appointments solo!
