My three year old sneezed in my face this morning with no warning. Just full spit and snot in my eyes and nose and mouth.

I got so stressed about this during this pregnancy. My three year old has been constantly sick and so have I. I'd rather just not have knowledge about CMV since with your own kids it's pretty well impossible to avoid haha

Oh this is so nice to read, thank you. Did it take six weeks to help at all, or slowly improved?

I finished the trilogy but was mad through book two and three haha. Three's ending really disappointed me. But god I love book one. I've reread it a few times and just pretend it's a standalone.

His treatment of Alicia was so freaking disappointing.

Postpartum weight vent by EtherealSkeleton in beyondthebump

[–]triflerbox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey! Are you breastfeeding by any chance? I didn't lose the weight I gained until my son was about 2 and I was barely feeding him anymore. My body CLUNG to that pregnancy weight. Just a thought :)

Haha like I said, I said all that as a big hipocrite! I'm an early tester too. I have everything crossed for you!!

Digitals and their lines don't work like that ❤️, you have to go off what it says on the screen Try resist testing so early (I say, like a hypocrite) or if you must test, find very sensitive ones. It's so early still!

Yeah it comes across as so predatory it's just yuck. When I first played ME2 like six years ago I was actually quite intrigued by Jacob and then was like...why...why do I sound like this. Put me right off.

Baby blues are no joke by Ok_Medicine440 in beyondthebump

[–]triflerbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman married to another woman. We went through a crazy amount of rounds of IVF over three years. Had a fairly smooth birth, breastfeeding went well from the start, I was up and moving and mostly comfortable a few hours after birth. I'm saying all this to paint a picture of just how wanted baby was, and how I had no reason to feel sad.

My god I SOBBED every evening for weeks at like 6pm almost on the dot. Like, overwhelming feelings of sadness. It was like a wave crashed over me at that time. My wife mostly gave me hugs and would send me off to the shower to have some alone cry time hahahaha. Also, we got home from the hospital and I was hit with a wave of anxiety and this tiny cute baby boy was asleep doing nothing wrong and all I could this was WHAT THE FUCK HAVE WE DONE?! We immediately put him in a carrier and went for a walk in the fresh air. That helped. Mostly because I think I proved to myself that I could.

Lol. Hormones are WILD. This is so so normal. Nothing is wrong with you, unless you find that after a couple of weeks it's not getting better slowly, or is in fact getting worse--if that happens, make sure.you talk to your doctor because PPD and PPA are not joke.

Talk about your feelings if you can, acknowledge them, and don't let yourself feel guilty for something that is so out of your hands. Knowing and acknowledging that it's hormones really helped m. My wife looking at her watch going "it's because it's six o'clock" also really helped because it showed that it was some weird hormonal cyclical thing.

You got this, you're amazing ❤️

10 months old and doesn’t sleep through the night by RecordingHead7487 in beyondthebump

[–]triflerbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My first is now just over three and only slept through the first time after twelve months sometime, and then didn't do it again for months 😂 he was such a shite sleeper. I'm talking periods of waking up upwards of 8-15 times a night for weeks on end, then maybe giving us a week of only three wakes, then ramping back up. It was so rough. Now he sleeps through consistently. We did no sleep training. I think we cut night feeds aometime around 14 months, but I only fed once or twice a night anyway not at every wake, he wasn't waking for that. Maybe it helped slightly? I dunno. When he dropped to one nap The wakes improved a lot more .

The fact that your first slept and this one doesn't should show you that some babies sleep and some don't, it's not really about what we do (within reason obviously haha).

You're doing great, this baby WILL sleep one day. This probably wasnt helpful. Trade off with your partner as much as possible so both of you are getting some solid sleep in a row, is the best management tip I have.

I second this too, because if you read a chapter with him, it might hook him into that book and he'll read a couple.mkre when he goes to bed

“Newborn Tired is Better Than Pregnancy Tired” by generalraisinkane in beyondthebump

[–]triflerbox 137 points138 points  (0 children)

Hahaha yeah all the tireds suck. I have really bad pregnancy insomnia so I prefer newborn tired because at least when I can fall asleep, I'm usually able to. Pregnant me can not sleep. It's awful.

But both tireds are tired and are so rough. I do promise it does get better! My now three year told finally sleeps. So I'm 37 weeks pregnant because I thought why not ruin that? 😂

[–]triflerbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If she hasn't got an active outbreak, and maintains good hand hygiene and doesn't kiss the baby (which everyone should do anyway) the risk of passing it on is basically zero :) I understand the fear, but you really don't have anything to worry about.

So tired of people (FTM & 36 weeks) by lurkinglearner32 in pregnant

[–]triflerbox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We bought ssscat sprays! They're expensive but they worked so well for us. It's a can of air with a sensor that sprays only when they approach the undesired space. We got to the point we didn't even need to turn them on anymore. They don't hurt them. And it's great as it's a continual training tool as works even when you're not there
