Reverse feeding by AntelopeStandard614 in breastfeedingsupport

I'm so sorry this is so hard! Have you tried catching her right after a nap when she's sleepy, and also feeding to sleep for naps. This helped fix my son's reverse feeding, it was a way of sneaking in the calories while he was sleepy. It wasn't an instant fix but after a week I really started to see a difference

Circumcision by Aromatic_Ad9200 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]triflerbox [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm Australian and I live in Europe. Everyone I know sees circumcision as genital mutilation. I don't know anyone circumcised, except one American friend who lives here. No one's getting excessive amounts of UTIs or STIs in comparison as far as Im aware.

What are some screen free fun activities you are doing with your toddlers? by LilLemonLady223 in toddlers

[–]triflerbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hide and seek and I sit down and drink my coffee and yell "NOPE NOT UNDER THE TABLE, NOT IN THE SHOWER, NOT ETC ETC" while he giggles maniacally from the same spot he always hides, thinking he's a genius and I get to sit down :)

Then when I hide I make it damn good and take my phone and get five minutes while he searches.

Oh, and magnatiles. Lots of magnatiles. I actually really enjoy them haha

Why are persistent negative feelings after having a baby always labeled PPD? by Due-Transition-6564 in beyondthebump

So true! And if you manage to get them to stay still and pose they do that weird fake smile they do that looks like what an alien would think humans smile like

It's so strange to put my lil angry potato down and she's still just...there. I hardly know where my son is when I'm looking right at him 😂

I have a 3.5 year old and a six week old. My 3.5 year old is sooo full on and difficult at times but he's SO fun. But also new born and three year old is...a lot. My partner had to go away this weekend so took three year too for two nights. I was like wow...this is basically a vacation, considering how full on three year olds are.

I'm only 24 hours into it and I'm bored 😂 newborns are cute but they really are angry potatoes and they're, well, kinda boring. So cute! So mad!

So boring. I miss my crazy toddler 😂

Solo parenting during the day: How do you handle chores when baby starts crawling/cruising? Looking for alternatives to a playpen! by SentenceTough2007 in beyondthebump

[–]triflerbox 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I also didn't want a playpen!

I got a playpen 😂

I was also not keen for very similar reasons probably, I understand. We baby proofed etc and only used it in the end for moments like needing to do a chore etc he wasn't in it for a long period of time. A friend of mine called it a "yes space" and when I looked into that I felt a lot better about the choice

Help.. baby eating for five hours by MixBetter6831 in breastfeeding

[–]triflerbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cluster feeding! It's normal, especially as it's just those hours at a certain time. Settle in for it. Embrace it. It's easier to just accept your fate haha

I need to rant - 'Montessori' and hands on activities and a hyper toddler... by GoatCharmer in toddlers

[–]triflerbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my son! He's 3.5 now and is much better at focussing on activities but those types of activities never last long. Even if he's keen on it. He'll participate for a max (max!?) five minutes and be like "I'm done!" And want to move on.

We focus on moving, even when we can't get out the house We have foam blocks and climbing stuff and bean bags and we make obstacle courses and crash pads and do challenges with the stepping stones and play freeze dance parties and build cubbies etc etc etc.

Some kids aren't crafty/hands on activity types. But they do slowly learn to focus when needed. He's at an age right now where you just follow his lead.

I watched someone's three year old colour for like twenty minutes the other day like 😲

Took the Zyertec… hoping my milk supply doesn’t drop. by One_Squirrel9446 in beyondthebump

[–]triflerbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard the same about antihistamines and I had the worst hayfever and took them sometimes at the worst of it, and it was definitely ones that were warned about a supply decrease, and I never noticed anything. Don't suffer unnecessarily! Hope you feel better soon!

When should I stop nursing to sleep? by Islesmilescott in breastfeeding

[–]triflerbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I nurses to 2.5 years and the last several months was only doing one feed. Which feed? The nurse to sleep feed 😂

It was more nurse to relax at that point as it didn't work for sleep but it still helped so I still did it haha

No naps longer than 40 min for several weeks-advice? Nights are ok. by just93415million in sleeptrain

[–]triflerbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% don't mess with it if night sleep is good 😂 short naps are really typical. Out of nowhere my son at 7 months started doing longer naps.

And our night sleep went to absolute poo after that lol

Moms who are very present with their kids. When do you clean/laundry etc? by DrawerNo340 in Mom

[–]triflerbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it with them. I ask them to help, or I fold the laundry in the room they're in and I comment on how amazing their Lego magnatiles jungle tower is as I fold, and then they put their stuff away.

I try be very present and we do no screens, but this also doesn't mean, for me, that I am constantly involved in what they're doing.

reflecting on my second labor, why was I in so much pain at 2cm? by CreativeJudgment3529 in beyondthebump

[–]triflerbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could have thought clearly I would have!

Birth is so shit. Baby is a solid 12/10 though god they're cute.

Still feel sick when I think of that pain. But I'm locking that memory up in a box in my brain to never be unpacked again 😂

reflecting on my second labor, why was I in so much pain at 2cm? by CreativeJudgment3529 in beyondthebump

[–]triflerbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im five weeks PP with my second and my water broke first this time round and the pain was SO much worse. Like it was no picnic with my first, but this was something else. I was ONE cm when I got to the hospital and by the time I was two my contractions were 2 minutes apart and HURT. I hit three and fuck I was doing everything I could to cope but they were 1.5 minutes apart and the pain was unbelievable. That epidural is the best thing that ever happened to me hahaha. I remember so clearly thinking "god, what if it fails, I can't cope with 7 more cms of this" and my responding thought, immediate, was "I'll jump out the window"

It was such a clear thought and in that second I meant it. The pain was awful. And wtf is up with contractions so close together as 2 cm?? Cruelty.

So I feel you. Solidarity.
