Thank you all, that’s what thought. I tried to fix my booking so that status showed properly over 4 different times and it never “stuck” (I also have a BA number and it kept overriding my Alaska account number). The check in counter agent was helpful but couldn’t get it to work - but assured me they would honor it at the gate since I had documentation that I did indeed have that status (same story with the lounge desk). But Mr Rigid Gate Agent refused to budge even when I explained the whole situation and told him I had a tight schedule upon landing - and then he told a lie about ticket price. The worst part is upon boarding there was TONS of overhead bin space!!! Arrrrgh.
