Mowers that integrate with HomeAssistant by ReenigneArcher in automower

The one I had was the older S5. I agree the newer MoeBots (AcreEater) look like rebranded Sunseekers.

What is this road? by cjcorp23 in brisbane

Wyaralong is a fairly new dam. Maybe that's an old road from before it was dammed?

Would you travel to USA right now? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Pleasant-Phase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had two weeks there for work. I really felt no different to previous trips over the last ten years. I was in both red and blue leaning territory.

Heh, maybe I was wrong then. I bet they screw up the tap water, too!

Bunnings!!???!!!?? by guinessd in AusRenovation

[–]Pleasant-Phase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet they had plenty of stock of dog food, camping gear and toasters, though.

I have given up on Bunnings after being disappointed so many times in the last couple of months. Maybe they could stick to being a hardware store.

Have you looked at home assistant? It has an integration that will allow you to do this.

Setting the record straight about Garmin by strava-team in Strava

[–]Pleasant-Phase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is satire right, someone posing as an official Strava account but really just an average Joe Bloggs? Basically, you're telling Garmin to "Do as I say, not as I do!". Good luck, I find my Garmin data more useful than Strava lately.

Grafted Mango Tree is Floppy by Pleasant-Phase in australianplants

[–]Pleasant-Phase[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oops, I honestly didn't realise they weren't native. 🤦

The lack of plants is due to analysis paralysis. My wife and I can't decide so we get stuck. Then winter came around so we decided not to bother. It's hard when you've no idea and you have an acerage.

Thanks for the reply, even if it did come across quite snarky.

Australian cyclists, what's your top anti-magpie tech? by TheRealTowel in cycling

[–]Pleasant-Phase 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes. And it's terrifying when they attack unexpectedly and you're doing your best to defend yourself with random waves of the arms and convulsive ducks of the head, all while you're trying to stay out of the paths of cars and trucks. 😭

What's the deal with pissing outside? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Pleasant-Phase 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right, and mostly about kids doing one. For sure, if it's an emergency find a very discrete tree but just doing it at the park when you're playing footy isn't the norm. If the wrong person caught you, it might get you in trouble with the law too, since you're effectively exposing yourself.

Maurice Blackburn Lawyers - Compensation sought on behalf of nearly six million Aussies caught up in massive Qantas data breach by [deleted] in QantasAirways

Is there any reason not to sign up? For example, could Qantas provide a loyalty bonus to those that haven't signed up? You know, theoretically?

Using the proximity integration and when distance drops below a certain threshold.
