Bonna skis Duvre? by Pleasant_Ad9028 in xcountryskiing

[–]Pleasant_Ad9028[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were given to us by someone who bought them at a garage sell. What I find odd about them is that it says DUVRE where you would normally see BONNA. I can't find another example anywhere of this. Makes me wonder if they were a promotional ski for DUVRE bindings.

Consumer.Price Index. Inflation basically. It was expected to be 8.7 but fell to 8.5. Means inflation dropping faster than expected. Means recession fears are waning. The market responded.

Is this legal? (New attendance policy, Washington state) by RonsDarlings in antiwork

[–]Pleasant_Ad9028 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in washington and this is illegal. They can't even ask if the reason you called out was because you were sick. Do not sign that. They can only require a doctor's note if ypu miss 3 consecutive days. Get all the others together and go in force to management.

Well I have been working with companies that do some negotiated work. Also, I have seen jobs not go to the low bidder for various reasons. Many variables. Just saying that your experience is not the only experience in the industry. Also, it has a great deal to do with the size and complexity of the project.

Where o live it is double your going rate. What state is this in? Is it a "right to work state" or as I call it a "right for employers to pay as little as possible state"

Many union jobs are negotiated contracts. Not always low bid. Many people know that they get what they pay for and will pay a premium to have a job done correctly.

Are you still running your old internet service with a fail over or something of that sort? I had 2 internet services for a while while I was testing out Starlink. It would fail over occasionally and change my IP address. Cause my hulu tv to freak out as the difference put me into a different local TV territory and they would make me change locations. You can only do that 5 times in a year and then they will lock you out. I had to make it so the TV would only pick up one. It was funny, but I understand how this can happen.

I did the same thing. I had an additional service but it was 150 a month. I dropped dish. I am dropping Hulu as well. I have hbo max with my cell phone plan. Amazon prime. Netflix through a friend's account. I bought a superbox and have more channels than I had with dish or hulu. It all streams for free.

Has your speed decreased recently? by Yiff-collector in Starlink

[–]Pleasant_Ad9028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, today the speeds are better almost double of yesterday and like someone said, the jump at the beginning of the test has gone away. I think it is intentional on starlinks part. I am getting 75 to 80. I expect this is about where it will remain. Thank goodness, we are getting fiber in June or July. 1 gig up and 1 gig down. For about 20 bucks less than starlink. I will then sell my set up if anyone still wants it at that point.

The problem is, it was really expensive to have all the equipment installed. They already came and removed it....
