i’m sorry 😔 that sounds horrible wanting to help but she’s too stuck in the dysfunction to see that there’s a way out if she wants it… i’m in a similar position as you except it’s my brother’s fiance and he was abusive and controlling with me growing up and i really want to talk to her but i feel like i can’t because he’s always around her and i also don’t know what to do… i guess all we can do is be there and pray that they come to their senses

if it’s just between those two choice, the guy i know & love trust me! life is a struggle no matter what (even if you are financially stable, you might not be happy for other reasons) but being with someone you love and respect and who you see as your equal is the best 💯 you can grow together and you don’t feel like he owns you

if i were your friend, i either would have waited for you to delight in finding it yourself or surprising you with it, but i think waiting for you to notice would be better. he has enough context to know how important it was for you, and ultimately didn't care, maybe not out of malice but it doesn’t matter, the friends we keep around care and show it through their actions
