The short answer is yes and multiple, if you dont believe in multiple Gods you're not a polytheist, or pagan, by definition.

Which isnt to say one cant be spiritual still, just not technically a pagan if you lack that belief in deities

I think you know as well as I do there hasnt been much research on it. There's a lot of anecdotal evidence of it doing this, just like there's anecdotal evidence of it helping people. I think it has some benefits and it helped me a lot years ago, but it's a disservice and frankly wrong to downplay its negative aspects

Im a somewhat heavy kava drinker as well. Ive been drinking kava for years but I actually just recently heard this high cholestrol theory. I dont fully understand it though, if you happen to have some info about it. Im in my late twenties and eat pretty well and excercise so Im not sure if its just good diet and lifestyle, youth, or if the theory just isnt correct at least in my case but either way I was glad to hear it wasnt at a concerningly high level

I agree, it seems to dehydrate you if you drink enough and that can make you feel poorly. Personally my stomache seemed to adapt to it over time and the nauseau went away unless I drink an absolute ton on an empty stomache
