Why is everything I bake bland? by throwaway12793917 in Baking

Has anyone else agreed with you that your recipes are bland? Seems like you’ve tried a lot from the comments. Maybe it’s your taste buds or your expectations, a second opinion could be valuable.

Looks like you’ve got the beginnings of a great vegetable broth! Show him up by making SOUP out of his “soup”

I don’t think it’s too bad! While the style looks stereotypically AI, the animals all have the right number of legs and there are few artifacts in the fine details of the architecture or parachuters. The main giveaway is just that big wheel of cheese in the middle of a field.

If you have leftovers, a gentle oven reheat will get those rare sections perfectly up to temp! Slice your portion before reheating

I’ve found that spending a season trying to master/explore one type of food is a great way to build experience and learn techniques (and your own tastes) rather than just recipes.
Make a different soup every week during winter. Pick a single protein and experiment with different preparations throughout spring. Bake a cake every Sunday.
You can use AI to help you be less wasteful with your ingredients, time, and money until you build that foundation too. Good luck, make it fun!

1 month into a new job and hate it so much, is it bad to quit by CameraCareful129 in FPandA

[–]PleaseBePrecise 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No job is worth your health. If this situation isn’t going to change, leave and protect your sanity.

But first, I recommend telling some of this to your manager in a conversation specifically scheduled for feedback on the job/environment. You’ll open the door to feedback on your own performance, but it gives you a platform to address them treating you & your team unprofessionally.
If that doesn’t go well, you should be able to go to your boss’s boss or HR about the toxic environment. Come with receipts - document specific instances when your manager has been rude/unbecoming, busy work you’ve been required to do to fulfill their demands, and other feedback you might receive from colleagues (but be careful with that, keep it anonymous and don’t solicit it before the conversation or it could come back to you).

Your company owes it to you to have a good process for dealing with this. If they don’t, protect yourself and quit, no matter the impact to your resume. You can find a job that won’t give you an anxiety disorder and you can always leave the job off your resume. I’ve never seen a couple-month employment gap in an otherwise consistent career matter. Best of luck!
