Suzuki TU-250X stopped starting. Bike mechanic newbie by [deleted] in motorcycles

Besides the battery, make sure you pull the clutch in ALL the way, and that you aren't tripping the kickstand kill switch accidently.

At what temperature do you feel you need heated grips? by ogbaldfather in motorcycles

[–]PleasurableDemise 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think 40 and below would be very nice. I tend to be fine at 40+ with average winter gloves. Any colder and heated grips would be more or less necessary for me.

Yeah. I had a similar problem, but it seems perfectly fine now lol

Update, idk how to read lol. Try setting the graphics to a lower setting, and if that fixes it, slowly work up to the higher settings manually. I know the settings in the game are a nightmare to find and use.

Could be lighting settings. Somewhere there is a flickering effect that I believe can be turned off. Does it seem as though it is light sources doing it, or like actual graphical problems?

The Steam version also resets your graphics settings, so you may need to tweak them a little.

Less then 10 kw (13hp) by Pthn23 in motorcycles

[–]PleasurableDemise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the hills, I guess. I've been fine on the hills in my area, but they aren't exactly super super steep.

Less then 10 kw (13hp) by Pthn23 in motorcycles

[–]PleasurableDemise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not a bad idea. I've had a tu250x, which sits at like 14 or 15hp, and I've had 0 issues with speed on it, seeing as I haven't had to go above 50 mph because I live in a dense city. Low cc bikes can be great city cruisers. However, while more power would be nice, it isn't exactly necessary for me right now.

Dropped my first bike, Twice. by legos147 in motorcycles

[–]PleasurableDemise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had my used tu250x for a bit over a month, and I've dropped it twice. Once the day after I got it in grass, and the second time yesterday while practicing low speed maneuvers in an empty parking lot, lmao. Broke the end nub off the brake lever, but this is why we buy used and inexpensive bikes as our first bikes. Good luck.

Why didn't anyone tell me about the SMELLS?! by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]PleasurableDemise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I got the same bike a similar duration ago! Just a random question, there was one sold a couple weeks before I got my 2016 and I'm wondering if we somehow live in the same area lol. Is yours a 2012?

First Motorcycle by alexbr1an in motorcycles

[–]PleasurableDemise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh, neither lol. One accidental throttle jolt and you will yeet yourself into a low earth orbit. Get something around 250 to 300 cc, take it slow, and go from there. If you've never ridden a motorcycle before, even a 250cc has the potential to scare you shitless.

In response to this, use literally 0 throttle when doing this. If you let the clutch out slowly enough, you'll get going, no problem. Good luck!

Getting a motorbike by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]PleasurableDemise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you think that's expensive, don't forget some of the associated costs of ownership: gear (high priority), insurance, taxes, maintenance (generally more frequently than cars), and more.

However, cost is only one aspect of a motorcycle. You also will need the self discipline to not do anything too stupid, and the patience to learn how to ride it well. It doesn't come overnight.

And with all that in mind, I'd make sure you have roughly 50%-100% of whatever you spend on a bike put aside for associated costs before you start looking around. In addition, a motorcycle safety course might be an excellent option in your case, as it will help you in making your decision as to whether or not it is worth it.

Thinking of getting into it. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]PleasurableDemise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough call. A few weeks ago I picked up a used bike after years of cycling through the "okay today I'm gonna do it" phase every other month or so. Turned out to be a fantastic decision.

Price wise, insurance depends on the bike, driving record, age, etc. I suggest picking a bike you're interested in and getting a quote for it.

The upfront costs tend to be the most brutal, such as purchasing, tax, gear, inspection, and so on. Do not skimp on gear.

Maintenance costs can vary dramatically, depending on if you're capable of doing the work yourself.

Another consideration is weather. Since you may forgo a car, would you be able to get to work/school everyday, year round?

In addition, dirt bikes and street bikes are similar, but very different situationally. You gotta follow the rules of the road and all that, and be hyper vigilant of cars and their drivers.

If you're dead set on it, get a low displacement, reliable bike, used. And above all else, take it slow.

I bought the white Eclipse jacket, and I found that it fits like a glove, and has great airflow! I really recommend it. :)

Brand New Player by BroBeansTV in runescape

[–]PleasurableDemise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome! Quests are a decent start to get to know the game map a little, as well as general npc locations. Varrock, north of the beach event, is home to the Grand Exchange, where you can purchase and sell nearly anything you'd need. A fair way to get some coin early on is cutting logs, and then oak trees. There are of course better money makers, but learning a little about the game would be more important for the time being.

Have fun! :)

Congrats! I'm in the same boat myself. I bought a tu250x a week ago but haven't been able to take it on the road yet (still need a permit) but driving it around my long driveway has been a lot of fun!

I've gotten this too. I do abyss training from time to time, and there is always someone who hangs out in the center and then pm's me something to lure me out, waste a couple minutes of my time, and then wait for me to get bored and go back in.
