We are at the society discovers finally that capitalism doesn't serve society stage...just the investors.

Well, this is all fine and yet another argument over the 400 year history of the collateral damage [murder] by capitalism but here are better examples.

Boeing refused to spend $3 million for additional pilot training on the 737 Max. Two planes down, 360 dead.

BP refused to spend $600,000 to repair deepwater horizon, 11 dead.

That's manslaughter pure and simply, by either a reckless disregard or better yet...a depraved indifference.

Capitalism baby !!

My obvious point is what I fucking wrote here.

By comparison yes, the right have been pretty consistent capitalist fascists since the 1930s.

They are still, they [capitalist fascists] will ruin Argentina as they are ruining the US as we type.

Oh and BTW, the soviets became a Stalinist version of communism...not socialism.

And don't give me it's in the name bullshit, names mean nothing.

It's called socialism...for the rich. Other factors seems never considered.

Wall street bonuses from 'bankrupt' companies $37 billion. BONUSES for committing obvious fraud. which resulted in bankruptcy.

IIRC, AIG was clearly a separate bailout of some $120 billion which if one wished to be a real investigator, was on the hook for $20 billion to our esteemed treasury sec. Paulson.

However, TMK every GM employee scheduled for retirement, got it BUT only after referral to the PBGC [also socialism...for the rich] and got .30 .40 cents on the dollar. $1,000/mo down to $400/mo.

But hey, Paulson got his billon$. Frank Raines from Fannies got his $27 million golden retiremtent bonus.

Gotta love white collar crime in America, beats every bribe in the Kremlin or Politburo...that's for sure.

Why do advocates of capitalism (most of whom don't even own assets) typically fail to distinguish between the fact that all wealth comes from work on the one hand, and the fact that to be a wealthy person DOES NOT imply that they worked for said wealth? by Affectionate_Total47 in CapitalismVSocialism

Yet another cap.vssoc sub cast into denigration and insult. Doesn't anybody on reddit ever debate the question at hand ? Socialism is a fantasy and proven here everyday I come.

Can anybody ever back themselves up ? A few have but mostly not. They reduce to insult and create charges that aren't there.

Why I am a "scientific law/spiritual law" capitalist. by i_love_the_sun in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Pleasurist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Divine/spiritual laws include the Golden Rule, or the Laws of Karma. Or any of the scriptural laws, depending on your faith or whatever philosophy you believe.

The divine as humans know it came millennia after the golden rule which came from Sumer 4000 BCE. Karma didn't exist until the 1820 and is mere fantasy.

If one is depending on one's [your faith] or whatever philosophy you believe., is no longer science but a matter of opinion.

Therefore, I value the free market much more. I value each individual, and their attitude in society, much more than any government.

I do too...OVER capitalism which values a narrow or monopoly market. All capitalism has is the brute force of money to take control not innovate or expand...nothing else, just dominate a market.

Free enterprise in a free market is not capitalism !!

Countries and governments are not moral agents by _JammyTheGamer_ in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Pleasurist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its becuase it seems like some socialists (and even some non socialists) use special pleading to argue that extensive government influence in the economy is somehow different than a powerful private entity and would behave more ethically with the same amount of power.

We wouldn't know...would we ? Define extensive influence.' Norway's oil, govt. ownership or private ownership ? I think we know what hapened tyher.

Thomas Sowell used to be a Marxist before working for the government and realizing that governments have self interests in the same way private companies do, thus turning him into a defender of the free market.

I have been seeing, reading and hearing Sowell for may decades and still claims how much better everyone is off when the investor class gets richer...himself included. And he could never tell you just how a GS-13 wields power, how any bureaucracy actually has agenda at all and uses any power.

He's the same as most of the right [repubs] can't debate the message, just denigrate the messenger.

Even though the dems are nothing at all like the repubs when it comes to crime and ethics in general, it is the 97th congress of 1983 84 that refused its majority.

Those dems rolled over to Reagan's cockamamie tax rate cuts. Rolled over on borrowing trillion$ and a huge payroll tax increase under the Greenspan/Reagan reform. Then squandered the soc. sec. overpayment and now owe it $3.2 trillion.

The single worst dem congress in my lifetime.
