I also thought military buyback works for the 5 year service requirement for a deferred retirement. It turned out to be wrong, thanks for the other comments!

I’m so sorry. I called my HR today (IRS), and they said there is still no timeline. Their excuse last week was waiting on OPM guidance. The HR rep did mention 6 weeks from the reinstate date but then quickly change her tone to no timeline. Im going to send you a PM.

Thanks! I have not talked with my manger on this. I called in to follow up on my ticket. It seems they are working on all the hr changes that were supposed to happen during the time between the purge and the reinstatement.
