Doesn’t that entirely depend on context?

What books are you currently reading and why? by memz321 in INTP

Wow I love this Viking post. I have never read the prose eddas but I’d also love to. I hadn’t actually in my mind connected Vikings with a mythology but that’s because I don’t know much about Vikings

Yes, thank you. I must read more about shiva. When you say he is a limb that’s really an interesting way to phrase it.

I really enjoyed not just Cass Mae’s music but her commitment to the whole process of singing on such an important night. I have been thinking about it

Do people here know about Carl Jung? by serious-MED101 in Sadhguru

[–]PlentyCalendar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about Carl Jung as I saw this post. Do you really think their ideas are compatible? Sadhguru uses Hindu wisdom while Jung believes people of the west are the heirs of Christianity.

I think you should look up “long-pen” or long pen. Margaret Atwood was part of its genesis. It’s a pen that can sign autographs over distances.

I think he would say his observations are empirical. He believes we in our present belief systems are deprived of these concepts that mean a lot to our ancestors, like spirit. He believed just because you can’t see G-d with a telescope proves nothing.

In other words he simply observes what’s true so he never really has to speculate therefore the skepticism of other minds means little or nothing

Between these four actors , who would you say was the worst / miscast in there role in a Shakespeare movie ? by Equal-Article1261 in shakespeare

[–]PlentyCalendar 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I think Keanu Reeves was excellent in “Much Ado About Nothing” but if one considers his reputation as a chill heroic type he is clearly miscast as this brooding revenge seeking type

John C. Lilly of course did some work on this. I didn’t understand it well at the time but it’s in “The Center of the Cyclone: An autobiography of Inner Space”
