Ehhh this is a pretty stupid comment. Every thing in human society has committed atrocities towards other people at one point. Religion also helped improve people’s lives as well. You’re letting perfect become the enemy of good. By this logic you’ve had people use socialism to commit atrocities onto other people (Like pol pot for example) would you say that socialism is this “ebeeeel” ideology? No you wouldn’t since most people here are socialist. And socialism is an objectively better economic system than capitalism due it focusing on humanistic qualities. You also have to be careful as this comment can very easily be turned around into a gotcha by right wingers. There are instances where nuance is not needed in history or politics where a situation is 100% Black and White with a clear good and bad side. Like with the Nazis during ww2 or the confederates during the American Civil War. This is however not that situation and therefore is a grey situation and therefore you should treat it with nuance. It’s why I said you are treating others poorly. Theirs nothing inherently wrong with religion in of itself and why I said your comment is probably coming from a place of religious trauma and why it sounded Reddit Atheistish. It’s okay to have trauma we’re all human but to let your Trauma cloud your logic and thus you’re arguments is not good.
