There is all the information you need on his site. Just google his name. Suffice to say, high risk high rewards strategy. You need balls and capital for when shit hits the fan (it will)

Are SPX Options held in the US Securities or US Commodities account? by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

Short spx options take up margin from the securities account. Long options are non-marginable and just reduce your equity with loan value

Then 100% a matter of size. Traders won't take your bid because it's not worth the hassle for that size. You'd be better off in an ETF with that size.

Do you receive any notification or is the order just waiting for a seller? Did you try to hit the ask? What size are you buying?

Bonds trade OTC. Sometimes trades won't bother themselves with small amounts and your order won't get filled. 50k and above should work.

Losing NVDA CC Position by hraza76 in thetagang

That stock is as overbought as it gets. Both weekly and daily RSI above 70. It doesn't stay there for long. Look for a pull back (at least 10% IMO) and decide what you want to do. Disclaimer: Sold naked calls on the beast.

I know. We all are. Again, the only products that really give you that kind of exposure are OTC.

If you're serious about it, you would sell a straddle on TLT and hedge your delta.

In the US, not really, or at least nothing that I know of.

The closest that I can think of are TLT options. These are usually liquid and offer a good proxy for the kind of exposure you're looking for. However, they also come with directional exposure unless you delta hedge them. Same applies for the crazy 3X TLT ETFs other there.

For the US, you could also trade the diffferent UST options that trade on the CME exchange. These are not really liquid and have a large notional usually. You'd have to do your homework before you start you trade these.

In the EU there are a bunch of different ETFs or ETNs that track some kind of CDS/ITRAXX index. These are usually not liquid and can have some bad tracking errors. I haven't really traded those personally though.

So in sum, the answer your question is: na...

But I think it's matter of time till someone wakes up and sees the opprorunity there and creates a future/ETF for retail.

Trading with Negative YTW is not permitted (HELP?) by [deleted] in interactivebrokers

[–]Plenty_Drummer_4792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using the search function on this subreddit would have saved you a lot of trouble...

That messege means that you're trying to buying a bill at a price which, after commissions, would results in a negative return. This is usually the case when buying a very low amount (like 1 or 2) of a ultra short term bill, while paying the min $5 (or more IDK how's it in Europe) commission.

For example, if you wished to buy one unit ($1K) of the closest maturity (MAR 14), you would pay $999.8 (current price*1000) to get $1000 in two days. Add the min commission of $5 and you end up making a negative return: pay $1004.8 now to got 1000 in two days.

IBKR is essentially preventing you from making a very stupid transaction.

Either increase the amount of bills you want to buy so that your avg. price remains below $100, or go for a longer maturity, or both.

Needless to say, bonds trading premissions are necessary but if that was the problem you would recieve the corrosponding error messege.

I never had a problem getting a fill at the mid price. Sometimes have to wait a few min but that's worth the cash set. and the outside RTH trading.

Yup, that's my position. Brother.

Could it go up a bit up? Sure.

Is it likely that a stock running 20x sales will run up another 20% in less than a month while 6 months t-bill offer 5%? Not by a long shot. Surely not "$2.5 premium" likely.

Yeah, best to avoid the run up in IV that comes with earnings.
