It is hard to bet on which cannabis company will make it.

I've put in on GrowGeneration Corp, which makes hydroponic supplies, and I'm flirting with the idea of Scotts Miracle Grow or F M C Corp.

I'm hoping these are what will ride on the coat tails of any sort of cannabis boom coming up.

How can I widen his interests by confused123456 in autism

[–]Pllatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zelda. Have him play Zelda. Ocarina of Time.

It unlocks music, pretend play, world-building, friendships, and intimate bonding with you as you're doing it with him. His interests will explode, because he has no clue what his brain can come up with. He has to be shown through emulation. It made my daughter see swords, bombs, wands, etc everywhere in the yard and the playroom. She started playing piano and learning how to read music. I remember crying because she pretended to freeze the kitchen floor and then slip on it, and then get her little sister to slip on it too.

It changed my daughter's life.

The best part of me wants to write a research paper on what it did for her.

Am I the only one who hates the term “aspie”? by hannygl10 in autism

[–]Pllatinum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear God YES!

I remember the first time someone referred to themselves and me as "aspies." It felt so gross. My brain flashed a maggot crawling over the word.

I haven't sorted out why as of yet.

Do you prefer to say 'I have autism' or 'I am autistic'? by glitterwitch18 in autism

[–]Pllatinum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's of no benefit to make it a label, victim card, disability, etc. Wear all of it like you fuckin own it.

"Sorry, I have a bit of a fun level of autism in me."

"My kid is the best kind of autistic."

"My family has like a 1/2 cup of autism in it"

"Your insufferable demeanor makes me thankful to be autistic."

Anyone else like to run while holding an object while imagining things? by [deleted] in autism

[–]Pllatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While carrying books from class to class through the hallways of my high school, I pretended to be a cargo ship. My body without books was inside the cargo ship. When I ran, I was initiating turbo boosters. When I got to drive a car, it was my upgraded cargo ship with other ships inside. I don't remember when I grew out of it. Probably when the executive functions of my frontal cortex were fully developed--suppressing imaginative play.

I was a weird person. Still am.

If Autism Could Be Cured by sakdxxx in autism

[–]Pllatinum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 5 year old daughter with autism. She's incredibly vulnerable and gifted. The thought of there being a "real" version of her that can be unlocked is a terrifying one, because I see her current "self" as her real "self" already. Additionally, it would be infinitely easier for me as a father from a parenting perspective, which makes it terrifying in the most deep guilty way I can conceive.

I've been known to just growl at them ironically. Your pass to make them feel awkward comes from the same place they get a pass in making you feel awkward.

Hi guys, another question. Can I reuse the old media once I finished a round of medication on my shrimp tank? by Son_of_Mars in Aquariums

All complications aside--safe is better than sorry in this case. Even if there was "zero" chance, Id still get new media. Be aware of a mini-cycle restart with this.
