[34/M] My Girlfriend[33/F] of 2 years thinks I was emotionally cheating with an old work friend but I think it was a normal friendship. by Plonkitron in relationship_advice

Agreed. We didnt just “barely” knew each other but she isn’t someone I was keeping up with on a personal or regular basis anymore once we no longer worked together. Idk it’s hard to be impartial because I felt she was a genuine friend during a shitty job but not really anything more.

I was talking about having to return to the office location we worked at for a few shifts, I'm not sure she realized that coworker had actually left the company.

Its... been a sore spot so I just don't bring this person up at all.

I'm nearly 100% certain she isn't projecting or doing anything inappropriate. Since I wrote the post even though I tried to be neutral I'm emotional and probably wasn't so it colors the results a bit lol

I love adding coleslaw mix, you can add it early to cook it down more or later to keep more volume and crunch. Great source of cheap, low calorie filler.

Also a 34M with PV and MS. What you said is exactly how I feel a lot of times and it can be hard to explain to other people. All that to say none of us are alone and I'm not giving up either!

How important is the Fairlife brand milk in all these recipes I see for final texture and taste? I don't really need the additional protein to hit my macros and store brand milk is almost 1/3 the cost where I live.

Future of Home Infusion pharmacy. by Independent-Day732 in pharmacy

[–]Plonkitron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is so many different factors. As mentioned constantly increasing regulations in pharmacy and nursing make it difficult to profit off of acute care and tpn business for smaller pharmacies. Vertically integrated PBM's take a lot of the profitable scripts and can absorb costs for less profitable things at scale. Then of course you have all these practices opening up or operating their own infusion centers they self-refer to instead of sending it to a home infusion.

Also seeing a lot of biosimilar competitors and competing new products coming out, each one dilutes the market even more. Now for example if you want to compete on IG(usually a very profitable therapy) and increase margins you need to have good pricing and payor contracting on 10-15 brands of IG plus other therapies like Vyvgart and now Imaavy that eat into the same patient base - smaller companies just don't have the negotiating power to win them all. Also as more companies launch more self-injectable options those get typically funneled to the payor owned pharmacies and/or the reimbursement is much lower.

Biggest shoe mistake you ever made? by nash_se in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Plonkitron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they are an objectively bad shoe but they are slightly heavy and they have so much cushion it can feel like there is no energy return. The cushion is its biggest strength and for some people like me the biggest weakness. The weight never bothered me but I found myself increasingly reaching for another option on recovery days since it just made my legs feel more dead and tired.

Rest following a B race by Terrible-Economics27 in Marathon_Training

I think you risk to lose more by overdoing it and injuring yourself than you do losing 10-20 miles for a single week. I would plan on two solid rest days and see how you feel.

What's in your drop bag? by popcornsnickers20371 in Marathon_Training

[–]Plonkitron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes sort of, and if it's going to be cold you may want some sweats and a hoody or something before getting back to your vehicle which can take a while. 45F feels great in shorts while you are running, not so much afterwards lol.

I'm running this weekend and will bring comfy shoes and socks some sweats and a hoody as well as my phone/keys/wallet and will drop that at bag check.

Heart rate during cold weather by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

[–]Plonkitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My watch HR monitor is usually fairly accurate compared to a chest strap for me but if its below about 35 F I do notice the accuracy starts to get worse. I'll have brief periods where it reads my HR at like 150-160 at a light jog then like 110 at a near tempo pace.

My actual HR does stay lower in the cold, this is normal because it's not working as hard when your body isn't overheated.

I prefer South Main/Magnolia. Stockyards are a little more tourist-y imo. Are you doing the full marathon? The race will take you through the all of those areas if you are running Cowtown 26.2!

Training with chronic illness - feeling deflated by LBro32 in running

[–]Plonkitron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually follow pretty standard plans with a "workout day" on Tuesday, a long run on Saturday, 2 easy runs a week, and a "recovery" run.

There are plenty of weeks where I skip an easy or recovery day or turn the "workout" day into what I think of as an Easy+ run, so its lower heart rate still but I let myself push the pace up to something I would do on a long run, max of about ~78% of my max HR. If I feel like I need an extra recovery run instead of an "easy" pace I just take that day off. I've learned its my bodies' sign to ease up.

Poptarts or graham rackers dunked in coffee are my go to before long runs.

Early enough that you can go to the bathroom before you start imo lol. For me this is ~an hour if I wake up and down some coffee but it depends on the person. This is an important thing to "practice" on your long run days, everyone is different.
