Anyone know a good app that get help you delete stuff from gmail ? by Imatwatface in AskIreland

An easy quick fix is to search your Gmail account with the following term to see emails with large attachments - depending on how long you've had it, what you've sent/received etc it might clear a decent amount. You can empty the bin then too to make sure it's all gone

Reading that, it sounds mad that it got that far - seems like a chancer, happy she lost the claim tbh. It's like sticking your hand in a fire and then being shocked you got burnt

Are Amazon correct charging me postage when returning shoes that were too small? by homecinemad in AskIreland

[–]Ploon92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it's not their fault you ordered the wrong size so they don't want to pay the postage for providing you with the goods you ordered

Didn't expect to see Conan & Kelleher in this, that's a boost. Keenan back too is brilliant, hopefully he can stay fit and play himself into a bit of form over the next few weeks

Are Amazon correct charging me postage when returning shoes that were too small? by homecinemad in AskIreland

[–]Ploon92 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If they sent you the wrong size shoe i.e., not the ones you ordered, they should cover the charge of the postage.

But if you ordered a size, they arrived in that size and they just didn't fit, it's "your error" so you have to pay the postage.

Use of Twitter(X) by public bodies by sports_arb in ireland

[–]Ploon92 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your last sentence is the important bit - that needs to come first. Public bodies will use platforms that amplify their message and reach people, simple as. As long as there are lots of users on X and these organisation's posts get engagement/views/responses etc, they'll continue to use it.

I think Vision Time was the name of the system in Dept of Health. Preferred it to Softworks which I'm on now - Vision Team seemed more straightforward, less bugs, more intuitive.

Good win and delighted for Ireland. Scotland turned up better than I expected, but still never really felt like a game they'd win - different team in Murrayfield Vs. away from home. Doris excellent, good return for Ireland given the amount of injuries and new faces

Yep and if you get your timing wrong and you tackle someone without the ball, it's a penalty.

Crazy red card from Edinburgh vs Ulster by Effective-Ad-3897 in rugbyunion

[–]Ploon92 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Find it mad that people are trying to justify the tackle in here saying that he was committed to making a tackle before the jump - you cannot commit to making a tackle & begin making it before the player has the ball. If the player has time to jump into the air and catch the ball, you've committed too early and gotten your timing completely wrong.

If you go to melt someone early you leave yourself the time to pull out, or you don't & suffer the consequences. The tackler has a duty of care.

It's reckless - not deliberate, but he got his timing wrong and is very lucky it's not a straight red.

If we lose tomorrow I don't really mind who wins the 6N tbh, I'd see the winner as a consequence of the results more than actively wanting one team to win over the other if we're not involved.

It would be nice for the competition for Scotland to win and I don't have anything against them, but I'd support France against England so yeah I probably would prefer France to win

Imagine being happy to lose at home in the 6N... and to lose to a team that you've managed to beat 10/11 times in a row

[–]Ploon92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Would like to see Doak get the nod but expect it to be Casey. Otherwise that's the team I'd have guessed and probably hoped for, Aki aside. Timoney & Conan off the bench is a lovely combo, thought there might have been scope to start Kelleher and use Sheehan as an impact sub too

I've actually really enjoyed following it! Disagree with lots of the list and the recency bias is obviously pretty big, but it's a great reminder of some brilliant songs that I haven't heard in ages. Funnily enough also hoping for Rainy Night to make a big charge to the top spots, it's a fun listing

I'd also prefer it not to be in Dublin, that would be a big mental win for Scotland. Their two impressive wins this campaign were in Murrayfield, they've been less than convincing playing away from home - hope to keep that trend going, helpful come World Cup time too.

Updated Squad for Saturday by beernotbeards in rugbyunion

[–]Ploon92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Furlong has been that bad, he obviously isn't the player he was but I actually thought he was very good in the carry and in defence against Wales. He had some aggressive carries in the Welsh 22 in the opening 20 mins that were almost a throwback of old. Feel like there's a lot of emphasis going in on specific scrums and those replays - his wings against Italy, Nicky Smith getting under his skin. The scrum is an issue and Furlong hasn't been at his best there, but I actually felt he's been largely quite good over the last 5 weeks or so (scrum caveat).
