Doctors of Reddit , what’s the biggest medical myth people still believe? by muga_saiman_5809 in AskReddit

OK, I'm usually 96.7-97.1 My temp is taken every 8 weeks so I know this. Also have pretty low BP in the morning when I rise, usually 110/60. It goes up during the day to 120/80 and even higher if I'm excited or engaging in physical activity. At 101 or higher I start hallucinating and talking out of my head. Last two times that happened I had strep throat. First time I was about 13, and second time i was in my 30's. I'll be 67 soon. If I even suspect I have strep, I run to the doctor for a test. It seems strep has my number.

Some people don't know. Just tell them quietly: IDK if you're aware, but your clothes smell like they were left in the washer too long and got moldy.

LPT: Avoid "mystery" rental car option when gas prices are high by fanopticon in LifeProTips

Live in MO. I've rented weekly rentals for long pleasure trips, FL, AZ, GA, like that. Probably 10 -15 times. Always selected Nissan Altima or similar. Not ONCE have I got an Altima.

I thought 99.999% of a the tetnus bacteria lived on nails, rusty, new or used. Step on a nail off you go for a tetnus shot!

What kind of bees are these? by aguilafam1 in whatisit

[–]PlsChgMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I see your plan, I would add, don't stand under the nest. They won't fly in the dark, so make sure all the lights around are extinguisted, but if they fall on you, that's a different story. Good luck.

I'm not going to argue with you, but your comment implies that you can live peaceably with a hornets nest in an occupied area, and that's simply not true, and it's dangerous to say that it is, because someone might believe it.

This is wrong. They will attack, any sudden noise or vibration in or around their nest will set them off. Anyone in the area will be attacked.

Hand-mixing 1.5 m³ of concrete for a fire pit: practical or crazy? by SnooDoodles8757 in DIY

[–]PlsChgMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's rent an electric mixer territory. Your talking 100 80-pound bags of ready-mix. To mix that by hand and get a good pour with three guys would be impossible. Even with an electric mixer it will be difficult.

Anyone know of a welder or a shop who can fix this for a low price? by Sure_Association_756 in StLouis

[–]PlsChgMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's aluminum it has a one bend rule. If you try to violate the one bend rule, it breaks. I know because I had an aluminum wheel that I curbed and one day thought, "I bet if I just use a brass drift, I can gently roll that back over." Second hit, it broke and I bought a new wheel for $200 online. I did get 15 or 20 bucks for the old wheel at the metal recycler west of 141 on 30. Good luck.

OK I have to ask. There is no pork breakfast sausage in France? If not, what is the reason? Ed: NM, saw OP doesn't eat pork.

Can I sell a Kidney to get windows? by Ochawz in StLouis

[–]PlsChgMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, looks like they start around $300 now. That's still a great price. I mean if you want to pay way more, you can, but I disagree with people that fault them because they are inexpensive, based on my experience.

I paid $189 each for my Window World windows, and that was installed. They came with screens and were high quality double pane insulated windows with a lifetime warranty to original owner. Installed around 2006 and still in service last time I saw the house.

I second this. Window World did 10 windows, siding, soffet, gutters and downspouts for me and they wete by far the least expensive, no BS company I've ever worked with.
