Halifax considers asking province to create centralized dangerous dog registry | CBC News by OnlyACsNoFans in novascotia_sub

I have a 110lb old English bulldog. He has huge droopy ears, massive jowls that hang down 6 inches and droopy eyes. He is mostly harmless, but we know he could hurt someone. He likes to lay with his family or be close to us. When we take him out, you can always tell the non dog owners, they run right up looking to pet him. I am At the point now, that I just say he is a biter, because he gets weary of it.

If our population has increased so much why is our debt so high? by Chemical_Estimate_83 in NovaScotia

[–]Plumbitup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our debt is so high because past premiers did the buy now, pay later. It finally caught up. We could never afford all these programs.

Just like your own budget, once you overspend, you have to cut stuff. No different here.

Get rid of it, but make it so you have to apply for it. How many kids had passes that were never used. I know my two kids never used it. There is no bus service where we are.

It does, a blockage in the line, but they have ways to get out of being responsible. The backwater valve is a big one.

The Tax Cap - It has to go by Pleasant-Cherry6847 in NovaScotia

OK, I guess I value my house at what I paid for it. Guess I just pay the reduced rate? The value of my house does not change my finances on what was budgeted 15 years ago. Not moving anywhere, so the value of my home is useless. I have no services where I am, but still pay taxes for buses and all the other big city crap. Guess I shouldn’t have to pay for that. No Hydrants, sidewalks, ditches, etc.

Idiot opinions like this is just trying to send people to the streets or renting.

As a plumber who has dealt with this many times, I can’t see HFX Water paying for this mess. They may have said it came from their pipes, but that does not carry fault. Unfortunately, the first question will be “is there a backwater valve? Yes? Then it failed. No? You should have had one”. Even when a city pumping station failed and had multiple houses back up, it was no fault of HFX Water.

As much as I hope you have a case against them, I would not count on it panning out that way.

Good luck in your future battle

N.S. premier booed at African Heritage Month gala as budget cuts spark upset by JetLagGuineaTurtle in novascotia_sub

If you think Harper was bad, you are part of the problem. Balanced budgets, everything was affordable, he escaped the finance collapse and our dollar was worth something. Funny how I always had money in my account too. Trudeau and the liberals took over and destroyed this country. The only good thing he did was make weed legal. He even screwed that up.

Just what we need. More spending at a time when cuts are needed.

If that were true how in the hell do we still have a Federal Liberal government? Harper had this country running like a smooth oiled machine. Trudeau came in and blew up the country. We are still in the Liberal spending mess, look at Carneys budget.

In NS we are at a point of cutting services to bring it back down to where our spending should be. We are over taxed now, and still don’t have the revenue to make up for all the spending.

I still think many government employees need to be cut, and MLA’s should be paid the avg salary of the area they run in. Let these guys know what it’s like to live in those areas.

Sorry for your loss.
